Stephen Hillenburg, Spongebob creator, dead at 57

Stephen Hillenburg died yesterday due to ALS, at 57 years old. He was diagnosed with the disorder in March 2017.

Rest in peace. You created an iconic cartoon and a legacy that won't fade any time soon.

RIP. I remember reading about his ALS diagnosis.

I'm too old to appreciate his work but I know his creations brought pleasure to millions of people.

ALS is down on my list as one of the worst ways to go. Spongebob had some real moments. I'll post one of them here in remembrance.

This is very sad as he played a big role in making Rocko's Modern Life, which was my favorite show growing up (Spongebob is a close 2nd).

I am a masters student. My colleagues and I STILL make references to old spongebob episodes we saw as kids.
