YOU LIKE METALLICA????????? I DO TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! METALLICA RULES. I Metallica freak what about you???????????????????????????

Metallica (I saw them on Headbangers Ball yesterday) is cool and all, but I thought this was about System of a Down, they are cool too, I only have one of thier songs, called "Spiders" from the Scream 3 Soundtrack

The only SAOD songs I like are Aerials, Toxcicity, and Chop Suey. The rest is too Punk for my tastes :yuck:

SOAD is awesome, even though the guy has this tendency to go off-pitch alot. My favorite songs of theirs are Pogo, Chop Suey, and Aerials...

System Of A Down are preparing to enter the studio to begin recording their next album, tentatively due later this year through American/Columbia Records. The as-yet-untitled set will be the follow-up to 2002's "Toxicity", which album bowed at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 3.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

With regards to the recording process guitarist Daron Malakian said in a statement, "We'll play a song through and record it, listen to it and decide what could make it even better - repeat a chorus, simple rearrangement, we all spark off of each other. Some of the new songs have really great moments - we want to make the entire song a really great moment."

According to Malakian, some surprising influences can be heard in System's new work. "The influences range from Kraftwerk to Darkthrone to the Zombies to the Beach Boys, but it all fits together," he said. "It works."

The album will be recorded in a home studio in California's Hollywood Hills. "We were ready for a change. We wanted a different vibe and we needed to progress," said vocalist Serj Tankian. "We've always recorded in traditional studios, but this was a good move. It's a great place - it's not sterile and there are beautiful grounds to venture into. We're enjoying each other and the music we're making."

Wait, didn't "Steal This Album!" come out after Toxicity?

Yeah it did, but they aren't considering it a real album because most of it was just unreleased tracks to bridge the gap between Toxicity and their new album. So this new album is considered their 3rd album.

System of a Down are too Punk for me as well, not Pop-Punk as in Blink 182, but actual Punk, and I don't like that either. I agree with Event Horizon, except I don't like any fo their songs.

Makes sense.

Just out of curiosity, how is SOAD considered punk...

I've been listening to their new single Cigaro. It was leaked from their new CD. I like the song more and more each time I hear it. It's only 2 minutes and 13 seconds though...

I listened to a new song of them on the radio today, don´t know if this Cigaro song, and I kind of liked it. What I like on their music is that they have a unique style. I mean, when you listen to a SOAD song even for the first time, you KNOW it´s SOAD.

where are you listening to this? anywayz, I can't wait for the new album.

Edited: The link was sent to me in an e-mail and I was told that SOAD had put it on the net. That's the only reason I posted it. You can find it by simply typing in cigaro into google.

But thanks for the heads up. 👍

uhh, dude, If you don't want to be warned, you may want to remove that link. thanks tho.
I think it was SOAD that made this available. My favorite radio station has that link to Cigaro on one of their main pages. That's how I got it. They play it all the time. I even called in and requested it and they were obliged to play it!

well, if they did, the link is in my post when i quoted. edit: I think every band should give free mp3s of their singles. cause everyone listens to them all the time on the radio.

edit: that is CRAZY! that is the most awesome song i have heard out of them. :)

i just got Steal this Album! and I must say it is their best. Far better than Toxicity, IMO. I can't wait for their next! What I love about their songs is that they are all crazy and fast and you don't know what is gonna happen in their next songs. Cigaro is a PERFECT example of this. When they do go slow, like in Aerials and Toxicity, they execute it perfectly.

A new one of my favorite bands! 👍

I would have to say Toxicity is their best album so far. It seems more polished and the songs fit together better. That said, some of my favorite songs include Bounce, Mr. Jack, and Soil - but i like all of their songs. I cant wait to hear their 2 new albums.

Toxicity is great and I love Aerials, Toxicity, and Chop Suey! (3 of 5 of my favorite SOAD songs, others being Cigaro and Spiders) but I think Steal This Album has a better spread of good songs that are worth listening to.

Steal This album is one of my favorite albums out of any bands ever. I should have their first album pretty soon. But their new one will be awesome. no doubt about it.
