Hey guys I want to make some wallpapers and I want to use some pictures from initial d. Is there any program that will let me do this. I tried using the print screen button but I just get a big black thing and no image. Can some one help me out?

If you're using WMP, try this:

Sometimes if you are using Windows Media Player you will need to put the video acceleration to software. To do this go:

Tools > Options then in the pop-up box go to the Performance tab and down the button under Video Acceleration move the slider to the left hand side.

Play the movie, get to the part you want to get a capture, pause it, press enter so you get a dotted border around the video playing area, press Print Screen and paste the image into Paint or whatever imaging software you happen to have. Sometimes you wont need to turn the video acceleration to software to get a picture but if you aren't getting any images try that.

Thank ALPHA for that.

You need some screen capture or print screen program. They save the image automatically when you hit the print screen key, or whatever key you tell it to use as a key to capture the image of the screen. What one, I don't know. I usually use the print screen key.

yeah if you use the print screen button and, say you use a progrem like paint to paste it. you not going to get anytihng but a big balck thing

You still have that! :guilty:

If what has already been covered doesn't work try SWBCapture.
thanks

Thanks for you help there TB but, i could not find any thing of use there. I think it was almost a winner for VRtainment CapturePad, but all i got was the usual black screen, of nothingness. So what i was thinking, how do those guys make wallapapers, those had to come from screen shots right? so can anyone help me still?

Some video players have a capture frame function (I know that PowerDVD does..) what player are you using?

I had the same problem capturing a screen shot of a DVD I was watching, then realised there was such thing as a capture screen from within the player.

right click desktop, properties, settings, advanced, find the tab that has your hardware acceleration settings (mine is under troubleshoot) and drag the hardware acceration to the left (none) and click apply, play the movie, click print screen then paste in your favorite app. Thats the only way i've ever gotten it to capture a picture of a video without other software. Let me know if it works for you :)

That would work for anybody, a screen print is supposed to take a picture of your desktop and put it in the clipboard. It will take a picture of whatever is on your desktop.

but if you have hardware acceleration enabled it wont take pics of video files ;) try it. when you pase it shows the video still playing (unless you have it paused, or if you close the video app, just a black screen....

Media Player Classic works quite wll for the task of playing videos. Plus it handles realmedia and quicktime files :)
