Nice, but you still see those lines on the cars, like on the previous XBOX and PS2. But otherwise, damn, look at the reflections.

THis game looks pretty cool! AT first I thought it was gonna be a GTA type game!

There's a definit difference from ingame to just rendered... I don't know about this game because I remember back when Test Drive 5 was out and I stupidly bought it for $50.00 what' a waste.

Not to mention the physics is unknown too.

Check out the vids at IGN, Gamespot, or Fileplanet, its looks so good in game, maybe you thought you were looking at render :)

Death of the gaming PC coming soon :(

What is with this HDR lighting whoring all of a sudden? Once Splinter Cell does it, everyone must do it. It's like the new lens flare.

Death to PC gaming? Your username fits you, newbielives. PC games have been doing graphics like these for over a year.

I doubt this Test Drive will go back to it's roots, when it was still a good game to play.

Who is going to spend 399 and up for a Vid card to handle these new games when you can get an XBOX 360 for for 299$ with tripple core 3.2ghz and 48 pipe vid card. You want to spend 500 bucks on the next R520 ATI vid card?

My friend the hardcore PC gaming machine is going to die, and this is from someone who bought a X800XL awaiting STALKER.

.

The worse it could do is lower the price of videocards, They sky rocketed once 3DFX fell off the throne.

I think you're getting ripped. I can get a 6600GT for under $150. I can also get a PCI-E 6800GT for under $350.

Who said Xbox 360 will be priced at $299? Microsoft's hype machine, some how, forgot to mention the price.

Well you can only play games and watch dvds with consoles, with a computer you can do much more... but if it is about gaming, consoles will always be cheaper, no matter if the Xbox 360 costes 300$ or 900 $

Obviously you know nothing about prices for hardware parts today,

X800XL is around 299$ or less and probably best performance for the price not a ripp off but the 6800GT is catching up in price as you can start to find them for around 299$ for MSI or Leadtek.

Well I like my X800XL card but compare to the XBOX360 48 pipe video card, even a SLI( I hope you know what that is) 6800Ultra won't be able to match it.

The estimated price for XBOX360 plain jane is going to be 299$, just check any XBOX360 info site, instead of talking before doing any research.

If you want to run games similar to XBOX360 standards you will need to upgrade to a ATI R520( I hope you know what that is too ) Since you probably don't, its the next gen ATI card that supposedly could be double the speed of the current single card champ 850XT PE with rumoured 32 pipe architecture.

The only thing which could bring the Gaming PC back is the PPU Physics Processing Unit or two years of death before the PC can make the XBOX360 outdated.

Is it me or do those screen shots look quite jaggy! .....I would have thought that would be a thing of the past with next gen........although when playing ie. stuff 'moving' ,they are not as noticeable...

Too bad you're still getting ripped.

You might want to check out pricegrabber.com

If Microsoft wants to lose again, they will ship a $299 Xbox 360 with graphic processing power no better than current-gen video cards.

Have you noticed through all of this they havent even mentiond the disc format. HD-dvd is still a rumor if u ask me since none of the oficial specs mention it. However all of the rumors came true.

Lol, You keep talking crap out of your ass.

Right, only a normal DVD drive was reported in the specs. Microsoft is already at a disadvantage. Even if they do plan on HD-DVD, it's still has less storage capacity than Blu-Ray.

I just had a look at these 4 videos... they are low res and the game is on an early stadium... It looks good so far, at least you can see the potential of the grafics... It is nice that you can see the whole interior, also I love the cockpit perspective... I'm not sure yet if I'm impressed though, cause, while looking good, it doesn't reflect much of the 5 times higher performance of the 360... we will see....

BTW, the game takes place all over the island of Oahu which has been completely mapped by the TD team, aided by GPS and satellite imagery... w00t.

True, but the next Forza or Sega GT (2005?) even will surely push the graphics a bit harder, and give you a better taste of the power to come form this machine.

Well but if you read through Test Drive's feature, you know, own house you can upgrade, an whole island you can race with others on Xbox live ( I even read together with hundrets of gamers) well then it is really a nice game, and we havn't seen a playable demo of PS3 yet, ...

I saw a video on GameSpy, and i'm not really impressed. The sounds effects are bland, and the cars feel way too heavy, even when you're not controlling them.

Off topic I know, but can you imagine what RalliSport 3 will look like on the Xbox 360? :D RalliSport 2 still looks and plays great, well except for the lack of anisotropic filtering :(

lol...teh feel way to heavy...yet no one has played this yet, lmao....hahahaha....funny.

Few comments:

Jaggies more than likely are from image resizing. These were probably large images resized later, hence jaggies are created from a low quality compression etc.

About the convo viper zero and the other guy are having:

Current PC's (average) come no where near next gen visuals, HIGH END PC's, however, do. That's spending nearly 2K on hardware alone, then toss in the monitor etc. PC Gaming will always be much more expensive than console gaming.

And both consoles will launch at or higher than 299, there is no doub it will be that way, I wouldn't be amazed to see 350 or higher.

And they will still have a larger user base than PC gamers :) PC's are for FPS and MMORPG's...boooorrriiiinnnngggg.

The cars feel heavy IMO because they move akwardly. Not even the gears are smooth, just a bland up and down of the acceleration noise. You don't have to play the game to see that.

You're just plain wrong. When we compare PCs to consoles we talk about the highest end PCs, because these consoles are obviously the highest end consoles. A $2000 PC these days has the power to take you back in time. You're being irrational in saying that.

And PC has a vastly superior user base than console gaming simply because you get much more than you pay for with PC games. Free patches, mods, and online play (although PS2 has free online play, i know; it's just not very dependable) that always has been and always will be better. Console online may only seem more popular because the companies make it to look that way. All online gaming lags up the arse, and when it doesn't, you have to pay a monthly fee! Not to mention the restriction on the number of players that can be on a server. These people creating the new consoles talk about 50 person games, and i'm supposed to be impressed? No. PC games have had that for years.

Also keep in mind that today's high end video cards and processors have been out for a few months now. In PC years, that is ages. I expect something revolutionary to be released for the PC as soon as the end of this upcoming summer. The PC market is just constantly evolving.

In that case I think GT6 feels heavy based on this little picture I did of it in paintbrush.

I gotta say, alot of the 360 games like like high end pc games, but some, like PGR3 for example seem better.
