The Ferrari Daytona (and Something Else) is Coming to GT Sport

This thread should be renamed The GT Sport Epic Whining and Crying Thread.

I miss that thread from GT 6, always good for a laugh.

Right? Aren’t moderators supposed to delete or move all these off topic comments?

Pretty excited about the Daytona, was just thinking about how this needed to be in the game after seeing one on chasing classic cars.

Not in front of my game right now, off the top of my head:

Gr3 - Mustang, Ford GT, Corvette, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Alfa Romeo...those are all fake cars. The only one that’s “real” is the Renault, but the real RS01 does not conform to any FIA or SRO GT3 specs.

The RS01 was converted to a GT3 following the one-make series collapsing. It wasn't competitive due to being harshly BOP'd and having zero customer support.

There’s nothing off topic here. We’re discussing the merits of adding yet another vintage road car that does not fit in any racing category in the game, and will more than likely see little to no use in the game’s primary mode.

It’s also awesome how legit criticism and suggestions for improvement are simply labelled as “whining and crying” Would y’all prefer if no one wrote anything? Or do you just want to see everyone repeating the same “I cAn’T wAiT fOr TeH nEw FeRrArI”.

There’s a new fezza coming to the game. Whoopy, we’re all excited.

Now, let’s have a discussion about how this new content will be used by the community, and what impact it will have on Sport Mode.

I wonder what motor will be in the Super Bee we're getting. Is it the 383 Magnum, 440 Six Pack, or the 426 Hemi?

Will they add 6 cars or only 5?
The sound of the 383 Magnum would blow your head clean orf... :sly:

My input to the discussion:

I can't wait for the new Ferrari (sorry, couldn't resist). And the Super Bee.

I'm a member of the community.

I don't play Sport Mode and don't know what impact it will have. Probably nothing new in terms of impact, judging by previous posts and comments here.

I will probably use the Daytona in the Ferrari GT League event and the Amateur Pre 1979 one, and use the Super Bee in the Stars and Stripes event and the Amateur Pre 1979 one.

Do we really have to? It's been debated to death in the two years since the game launched and nothing's changed, nor is it likely to this late in the game's life. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you about all GT's flaws but they're not end of the world stuff. They're just something we have to grin and bear while we have fun working around them.

GTS is almost 2 years old. The fact that we're still getting FREE monthly updates is fantastic.

I get that Gr.X and Gr.N have serious flaws for anything other than 1-make races when it comes to Sport Mode, and I can only hope that we'll see more groups that better accommodate race cars and road cars from all eras in GT7. However, the Daytona and the Super Bee will both be awesome additions whenever they get included in a future update.

PD sucks at communication, they have a history of making odd decisions, but GTS is in a vastly better state today than it was in at launch. I can only assume that many of the newer and highly desirable road and race cars are being held for GT7. Until then, I'm not going to waste my time complaining on the internet about the cars PD decides to add to GTS.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Unfortunately for me, I’ve already finished those events, and I don’t find their payouts to be worth my time to “race” the turrible AI repeatedly.

What I would absolutely die for would be a sport mode race, or better yet a dedicated category so people could easily make lobbies, between the Mustang Mach 1 ‘71, Corvette Stingray ‘69, Camaro Z28 ‘69, Challenger R/T ‘70, GT350 ‘65, Cobra 427 ‘66, Dino 246 ‘71, and Daytona (‘68-‘73). We’ve got all the puzzle pieces required, PD just won’t give us a flat table to start putting the damn thing together. And that’s perhaps what’s most frustrating

...with the category eventually filled out by the likes of a BMW 2002 Turbo, a Ford Escort, a Datsun 510, Datsun S30Z, Porsche 911 RSR (early 70s), an AMC Javelin, Hako Suka and/or KenMeri Skyline, and more  I can dream, can’t I?

No one is forcing you to participate. I’m not super keen on Spa, but I don’t tell others to knock it off every time it gets brought up...I just move on.

i have to agree , what is the point of complaining what cars pd adds , when there is more than one other game that does have real race cars modeled , gt sport was always going to be based on fantasy .

Apparently the lack of modern Gr.1/3/4 cars in a game designed around online racing with these three categories in particular over the past few months doesn't worry people, considering some are being lambasted and not true fan'd for pointing it out. Some of it is kind of trollish nonsense, but it's a real problem that is very much being ignored by both fans and Polyphony.

PD's one track mind in trying to shove a round peg into a square hole with this added on career mode (which still isn't really that good) while letting the Sport portion of the mode wither away with a lack of new cars in Gr.3 and 4 (the most used categories online by far) is apparently not a problem to people.

If you're going to make an online focused racing game, enough to alienate classic fans and tell them to **** off for not liking it, the least you can do is build up the actual portion of the game people play, instead of trying to hopelessly build a career mode that might only bring a few people in, and isn't good enough to actually be worthwhile to play in large amounts.
Yes we need new Group 3 and 4 cars as the list doesn't look that realistic. However, there are a large number of vehicles available to choose from. And PD want to include as many manufacturers as possible for the online championships. PD don't feel the need to add a 570S GT4 as the 650S serves the role, something which can be said about many vehicles: Corvette Group 4 instead of Camaro, SLS Group 4 instead of AMG GT GT4, Audi TT Cup instead of R8 GT4, etc. I know that may not be realistic, but don't forget some of the GT4 cars I've mentioned didn't exist when the game released. Of course the counter-argument to that is PD could be adding these GT4 cars now and put them into Group 4. Theoretically we could still get them.

But why do we need this discussion AT ALL? Are you suggesting that the Coronet and Daytona don't belong in Gran Turismo? A game which has been about car collecting since the beginning? So what if the car doesn't fit in a racing category? Many of us want to experience a wide range of vehicles and not be shoved into competition. Not every car has to be driven to death you know. I barely play GT Sport now (because I'm playing F1 2019) but when new cars are added, I spend some time on the game to experience them. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, the cars added in the game shouldn't matter anymore because "there are problems with how GT Sport is designed and works, there's been problems since the beginning, and they show no signs of being fixed."

Tbh when it comes to Group C cars being in Gr.1, I wonder if it’d help if downforce was part of BoP calculations?

Furthermore, I’m curious if maybe BoP would also be better if its adjustments depended on the other cars on the field, rather than depend on all cars potentially eligible for a class? In that scenario, a race with just Group C cars would have comparatively minute changes to BoP, vs. if there were a modern LMP1 car present.

I am also curious for if/when the new WEC hypercar class comes to GT, if it should just be added to Gr.1, or be a new group? I think it could be a new group, and some Gr.1 VGTs would stay in Gr.1 as we know it, while others would move to this class for the hypercar class. Respectively, examples would be the Mazda & Hyundai VGTs, vs. the Audi, Alpine, Dodge, & Bugatti VGTs. Depending on this new class’ performance, it may not need a new class, and could be added to Gr.1. But in that case, I’d really like to see more races in general where there’s a more restricted selection within a given class.

(I also think all cars should have as many stats as possible, especially for cars that don’t have a listed weight. I also think the FT-1 Concept belongs in N500. Just where did that promo image come from, anyway? The one that did indeed depict the FT-1 as being N500?)

PD could just program all cars in each class, to be equally fast. That would solve all this mess and it'd come down to the player's skill or how players manipulate track limits/penalties/DR... :sly:

That sounds a bit reductive, tbh. Sounds almost like you’d be fine with all races being one-makes. Which could be neat in itself, imo, but I also don’t think that’d be the best idea, as I really do enjoy seeing a variety of vehicles in a field.

Maybe they could make a pool of cars within a class, then somehow randomize it like at some FIAGTC events. For qualifying, you’re assigned a KTM X-Bow R, just like the FIAGTCs.

I see it now, but who’re you mocking? What do you think of my idea(s)?
Mocking PD. It's always about PD.

We all have ideas about how the GT games should be. For some reason, PD arejusy not doing things logically. Thing is, Kaz is a race car driver and car enthusiast!!!
So, what's getting lost(in our eyes) from his vision to the final product?

This will end up like the 250 GT... its a nice conversation piece but of course useless in competition.

I seem to recall the 365 did have some success as a 500pp car in certain GT6 intermediate events but... yeah... a front engined car with a heavy V12 will be imbalanced compared to modern cars.

Also I think it was only $500k in GT6... if its like $10 mil. it'll disappear into obscurity like the 250...

It weighs as much as a 22B and used to be almost on par with the Ruf RGT, a monster of a car at its level. It is way more advanced than its ten years older predecessor and is honestly very underrated.

Everyone remember this trailer, Seattle was already built in HD, i think.
Back when I thought that this will be an amazing handling car. How wrong I was.

I probably have a better ground to stand on with regards to my complaints then you do, somebody who doesn't even own the game. Besides, there are problems with how GT Sport is designed and works, there's been problems since the beginning, and they show no signs of being fixed. As such, I'll continue to point them out in the way that I do, and not in a reductive and frankly simple 'need more race cars, road/classic cars sux' format.

But, if you want to consider relatively level headed posts that lay out what the problems are to be 'long and ridiculous' then be my guest. Shows how much you know about the game, really.
Sorry, even though some of your points make sense, I still think you are a bit overdramatic and negative

Wow more pointless non racing cars. Bye bye until racing cars are introduced in a racing game.
Do you think cars that will affect BOP balance across the board, will be introduced into the game mid season and events, a game that is soon gonna be surpassed by a new game? Cars aren't as needed as new tracks. A lot of people are happy for every car because they are free anyways. With assetto Corsa owning licence to blancpain I don't think we will see any more cars from that league.
F1 licensing ... well you know the answer.
WTCR again already licensed.
Rally? - I don't think it's even worth going into
GT1 cars are the only ones they could add (whether WEC or older gt1 as Clk Gtr)
Think of it this way. if they would have all the racing cars they would need to buy of license for each sport Discipline. And I dont think codies will let F1 get away after years invested into it. - this is just example i'm sure you understand what I'm trying to bring across at this point.

and I can already see people complaining if they added race car... and put them into GR.X

You can't please everyone just remember

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

P.S: I think they have a few race cars up their sleeve and next gran turismo game is gonna have huge car list. I remember reading on this forum ages ago, PD said these models are made in a way that they are prepared for upcoming titles. the fact we are getting so many cars so often should reassure you that the next games carlist is gonna be huge.
