I saved up for my own NES, and was still playing on it when the original Playstation already was for sale in stores.

I have a concept of money because of this. One of my friends who always got every game console he wanted at the release date, is unemployed, has no education and sits at home playing on his X-Box. So you might as well say they just saved a life.

Yeah, I bet buying those videogames sure saved your life. I saved up a lot of money (since April) to buy an Xbox 360 on launch day. Now that launch is here, I've decided to save my 400 dollars for another day and ask for one for Christmas. The money I've saved up (now nearly 700 bucks! Once I got used to saving a LOT, I just got in the habit and it's awesome ) can go to something more useful. Like an anniversary present for my girlfriend

But really, did not a single PS3 fanboy stop and think they could donate the money to a CHARITY or something IMPORTANT?

I agree with iceburns288 that the money should have gone to charity instead. I mean I don't see how anyone could be so stupid to throw away their hard earned cash so someone else could buy something and smash it on purpose.
