THIS FORTNIGHT'S THEME

This week, we'll run on the nights. Last winner @Nuschel01 set this theme, let's hear what he has to say :

I remember it like it was yesterday when little 6 year old me got NFS Underground on Christmas eve 2001. The game and it‘s predecessor will always have a spot in my heart for being what basically got me into cars (apart from my dad) and later led to a life with Gran Turismo.

I‘d like you guys to go full 2000‘s and create a "ricer" livery which give us a throwback to the cars we all had in NFS:U and NFS:U2. Unfortunately there are no bodykits for the cars in GTS but I guess it won‘t matter that much as these liveries also looked good when there were no other visible mods done to the car.

So dust off those amps, get your door-wishlist ready and hit the road :gtpflag:

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

ENTRY SUBMISSION

- The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here
- Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
- Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following:

- One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
- You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
- Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
- Absolutely no entries which utilize edited/hacked file saves.

- Winner gets to choose the following Fortnight's theme.
- Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
- The Host may ask for the original image/livery and it must be submitted if so.
- It's recommended to share the original livery online (in-game) to prove it’s your work.
- Winner, second and third places will have to share the links of the liveries for the Hall of Fame thread


ENTRY PRESENTATION

- All images shall have preview images which may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction (main and bonus pictures)
- You have to post two main pictures of your entry using the mandatory locations and settings as shown below
- You are allowed to post two bonus pictures in a spoiler with free location and settings (unless the unique restrictions of the week’s theme specify something else)
- You have to make one post with ONLY the 4 pictures and the FINAL ENTRY mark. If you want to add precisions/background story/links, you are allowed to double-post under your entry. The best way to do it will be to "reply" to your own post.

- It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr
- Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
- A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
- Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it; it makes poll creation much easier!
- No heavy post-game editing, slight enhancing is allowed.

- You have to post a front quarter view and a rear quarter view of your car.
- You can choose between the Shiretoko 03 location or the White Sands 01/09 locations. No other location will be allowed for the main pics.

Good lord, a few days ago I was thinking how terrible the days of NFSU were, all the tribals, the underground lights... It took me so many years to finally forget about it.... and now THIS!

It‘s my childhood :lol: And tbh while most of the cars looks absolutely garbage it is possible to pull off something so insanely cool nothing can beat it :D

(And tbh I find this era of car tuning 10 times better than today‘s with all the RocketBunny crap :D)

Mine too, and with that Rocket Bunny stuff you have definetly a point, sir!
 
This is where the death of Xfire comes back to haunt me... so many screenshots of NFSU that I'd uploaded... fingers crossed I've got some saved on an old HDD!



EDIT: I have two screenshots from NFSU2 dated 2006... we on this lads

I never conformed to this style of livery, EVER :lol: This will be hard for me as my brain will just say no! I’ve never ever used tribal or flames!

however, my sim racing team are going through a change and I’m heavy in the works of new liveries. Once you see them, you’ll understand why they may take all my time up.
 
The Skull Tribal AE86

When I had started to work on this masterpiece, I was thinking "Good lord, hopefully nobody will see this! Tribals! Skulls! Tuning!"

But than I remembered the time, when I was a young man. First job, smoking funny things, drinking beer, switching from my Vespa to a 106 Rallye, my first appartment, making love to everything... and a copy of Need for Speed Underground 2. I even burned the soundtrack of this game on a CD, so I could blast with Snoop Dog and waaay too much speed through Munich, challenging everything to a race around the Ring.... There were no big problems at that time!

So I have to say thank you to @Nuschel01 for this competition. It gave me back memories I had already forgotten but are a part of me. I'm 🤬 proud that I put Skulls and Tribals onto a Toyota! This AE86 is dedicated to me, age 18 - Keep on dreaming, my good old boy!

Only the regular road car as I wanted to keep the focus on the livery and not have it distracted by crazy body modifications. I was also debating to include a few Gr.4 cars but decided against that because of the same reason

Surely the RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7 falls into the same category as the Amuse S2000.

It‘s not as hardcore though. I was also thinking about excluding it but other than a spoiler there is no huge difference to the regular RX7 :)

Yeah I totally agree! Although, I have some cool vibes going on in mind for it! Not exactly Underground style but definitely early to mid 2000’s mods scene.nNeed to brush a few liveries out the way first then make a start but the idea is in my head!
