Just asking... I am not here to sell anything..

But what is it that makes GTP (Meaning Jordan as the owner operator) stay with vBulletin and not switch to eg. phpBB...

Hope this is not a complete n00b post - if so - please delete ;)

vBulliten is, in my opinion, the most user-friendly forum software on the net (that comes in a box). I mean, sure, you could probably design a better, more stable forum software if you knew internet coding, but who would sit around for hours and hours making a completely new and unorthodoxed forum software (without being paid, I might add)? I know I wouldn't...

Some total weirdo! An absolute nut! Not anybody sane, I'll tell you that! It'd have to be a completely crazy, simply odd freak of a human being with no prospects or even a shred of sanity to his existence.

Probably a Scottish guy, then.

What I was looking for was more of a : "vBulletin can do this, your crappy free phpBB can't" kinda thing...

:D

Crazy as a coconut! And especially mad to embark upon a year-long rewrite for version 2!

Well, if you're using vBulletin, you'd have to be crazy to switch to anything else. vB is more stable, better written, more scalable, more usable, and is easier to administer than anything else out there. It is also very well supported by its professional developers should anything go wrong. The only reason that anyone wouldn't want to use vB, is if they have too much traffic. And when I say too much traffic, I mean about 3,000-5,000 simultaneous users (then you're talking about custom-built, managed, enterprise solutions such as OpenTopic). To put it simply, there would be no reason to switch from the best.

Invision Board, is the second best forum software AFTER vBulletin. Invision Power Board v2 can be veiwed at the Invision website forum. You'll see that there is NO way you can compare the too. vBulletin (next version) has no known date to release it's full version of VB3.

It's suppose to come with a fantastic theme. We can only wait.
