Can you buy a standard PS3 version without the film?
So the film is "free." Of course, then I am stuck trying to decide whether it should be shelved with my movies or my games.Yes, it's the standard $59.99.
Don't take my opinion as gospel (as I'm comparing an older 360 build vs a newer PS3 build, and the PS3 demo itself seems to be buggier since people have been saying it dips down to 2-5fps while others say it's a somewhat stable 30fps):Multiplatform owners, how does the 360/ps3 demos differ in terms of the usual like graphics?

Heh, as soon as I noticed the size last night while downloading I figured they did it on purpose, I would imagine the special something mentioned is getting the movie for free.
What equipment did you use to measure the frame rates during playback? And exactly where in the demo did you see these extra "hitches" that were not in the 360 demo? From what I've noticed, the 360 demo bounces back and forth from 60fps to 30fps, with a few hitches (in regular fights or just running down a hall) taking it down to around 25fps. With the PS3 demo, it's 30fps with slightly more regular hitches, but in some gunfights with a lot of things going on on-screen, it can dip down to 15fps and stay there for a while. For comparison, in those same gunfights in the 360 demo everything was smooth with an occasional drop to the said 25fps.
Agreed, it's the film that in many ways is attributed to the re-birth of Hong Kong cinema and was the inspiration of many famous action film directors today. So sought after was the OOP DVD from Criterion that copies were being sold on eBay for over $1,000... so yeah, the film is not junk. The film Hard Boiled is definitley no junk. It's one hell of an action movie. I'm a fan of Chow Yun-Fat and John Woo, so Stranglehold is definitly THE game for me![]()
The environments and the way they can be shot up is amazing! what game can you shoot a hanging roast pig to pieces and shoot a drinks machine till the cans fall out and explode!!! The attention to detail is staggering!!! I spent more time seeing how stuff breaks when I shoot it than playing the game!

Solid FroI wish developers would stop designing games for the 360. The graphics are horrible, even on UE3. There is an obvious limit on what the 360 can produce graphically. I shouldn't have to play 360 garbage on my PS3.
Although I agree with having games made for each system with seperate teams or made for the PS3 then ported to the 360, I totally disagree with some 360 games looking like "garbage".I wish developers would stop designing games for the 360. That is one of the most closed-minded comments Ive ever heard. Not to mention there is no substantial evidence to even partially support that statement. Yes, developers should have separate teams to build different versions for each platform, but I dont think that the PS3 is all that more capable as of now to have games that look drastically better graphics-wise. If you can show me some sort of evidence, Ill believe you, until then, that was a terrible and misleading comment.
When did I say anything about the Stranglehold? And when did I say that we are getting good ports? I know that we are getting crappy ports. I said that I do believe they need separate teams for separate consoles. But, Solid Fro is suggesting that all 360 games are limited and that the PS3 is capable of sooo much more than the 360 in the way of graphics. Give me evidence of that. BTW, read my post thoroughly before responding to what I didnt say.
