I've done a search and I have found that there is no thread discussing Top Gear's involvement in GT5. I know that there has been VERY LITTLE spoken about TG in GT5, but I think that there is some good potential for the license.

I have been thinking about the collaboration that PD has with BBC/Top Gear and I was thinking that maybe, just maybe, Top Gear could help bring more cars to GT AND help PD get them done even faster.

Here is my logic for the situation:
Maybe when Top Gear gets the cars to review, they take pictures of them and send them to PD to have them model it.

Also, do you think that maybe Top Gear also helped bring us manufacturers like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren?

I know this is speculation on my part but what do you think?

Creating a car its waaaaaay more difficult than that ... thats for sure. Its not just about pictures, its not a box shape modeled, where you place the pictures and voilá ... the car is ready. It takes a loooot of efforts , analysis and tests to replicate a real car into the virtual world of GT. Every single detail have to be perfect... and... wait a minute. You´ve got it, dont u? Ok...

I nearly choked on my coffee. I thought this thread was about drugs.

It could be a posibility, but then again what do i know...i'm just a consumer.

But i do get what your saying, Surely Top gear and PD together are an unstoppable force.

And back in season 9 i knew GT5 would have the top gear test track, as soon as jeremy clarkson tested GT4 in his living room and reviewed it.

That was the spark of a great beginning to a PD/TG relationship.

Having the test track is really as far as they need to go. Really even having the Stigs time in the game would be worthless since they would be beaten within days of release. I really think people are wishing for to much, I want to play Gran Turismo 5 not Top Gear.

Just because you hate top gear does not mean you have to bring so much negativity down on this thread, Did you ever stop to think about the fans of the series who are excited about things like this? its in your sig, we get it, you hate top gear.

I can still post my opinion about it's inclusion.

Sorry, I didn't see the "Fanboy Only" sign when I entered the thread.

Well the fans of TopGear would like to see more involvement in GT5, but even if you hate TopGear I don't see how more involvement would effect you.. I hate FWD cars, but FWD cars being in GT has no impact on me because I can avoid it for the most part.

Aside from the TopGear track being in the game I would of course like The Stig's laptimes to compare to (for fun of course, of course we could go faster in a game without dangers) also Jeremy Clarkson walking you through License Tests would be cool in my opinion, and judging by GT5P there are many different helmets/suits so if we had choices in GT5, I think it would be cool to have The Stig's outfit.

Having the Stig's times in, hopefully along with GPS-based renditions of his lap-ghosts, would not be worthless. So you beat those quickly in all of the different cars, and...? Not sure about you, but I have friends over, a lot of whom also enjoy cars but don't all own consoles. For them it's a whole new challenge to beat those times, and I get enjoyment out of teaching them and watching them have fun trying.

If I go back on topic;

No, I don think it is the way it works. Lambo is Audi now, Audi has been in the game and the deal with EA is done. That is how it works. And Lambo wants the 14 - 42 year old male enthousiast to buy carmodels, mugs, posters, books and laptops from Lamborghini. What is a better way then to have it done in a game like Forza 3 or GT5?

PD model cars off pictures!!!?

my idea was to use that clever sat nav ghost lap thing and put it in the celebs cars then put them up for download. then we try and beat them.

it is an interesting thought but sadly i dont know how much of top gear there would be in GT5 as it would then be talked about during the show much more and that could be seen as advertising which the BBC does not do. You might notice that at no point does he say Gran Turismo. He makes reference to "the game" but doesnt name it. He didnt "review" the game either. It would be interesting to see what they call the track in GT5. Dunsfold maybe but i will be really shocked if they call it the "top gear track".

Sure if you've been playing GT for awhile, it would be easy to beat Top Gear's lap times. But for the avid GT player and Top Gear fan, it would be nice to try and beat those record. Don't take away the fun of others just because you won't enjoy it.

One thing is that the TGTT would be very dull without anything special about it. In the show, they mainly use it for testing cars or doing challenges... I just don't see the track being in the game for NO GOOD REASON...

It's in the game cos millions of fans of the show would love to try and beat laptimes seen on telly, in the game. I'm hoping to hell there's a Suzuki Liana for SIARPC runs. Even without GPS ghosts the times themselves will be fun enough to try and beat.

I too believe their will be more "Top Gear" features or content than just the track.

Trailers already show what seemed like a drag race down the runway and recently with what seemed a race against a lear jet.

Personally I think any top gear crossover will be limited. Since the TG GT5 announcement the BBC have announced they are making their own top gear game.

I could be wrong but I think they might be refering to a board game or something like that? Anyway I can't wait to try some cars around the topgear track, mainly cars that have never had the chance to do it, like mclaren f1, to see how much faster it would be than a veyron.

there's already a Top Gear board game. I can't see a Top Gear video game being better than Gran Turismo. Might be something like Need For Speed perhaps.

Maybe they're talking about their involvment with GT5? If they made their own game I can't see it being that great, but you never know.

Find someone who has unreleased engine code of cheapest available quality. Do some branding and release. Projected sales, based on demographic percentage of audience are guaranteed. Game will suck a large continent-size landmass through a small straw.

Formula has been applied to movie and TV tie-ins since before the dinosaurs and rarely varies.
