Richard Hammond's Opel Kadett A from Top Gear of course. You know, "OLIVERRRRR!!!" :P

Since Takumi Fujiwara's AE86 from Initial D was mentioned, I also thought the "Devil Z" from Wangan Midnight should be mentioned aswell.

Lastly, Gus's Toyota Echo Hatchback or the "Blueberry".

Was similar to Knight Rider without the main character working for an agency.

Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) beating on his 1967 Austin 1100 Countryman in Fawlty Towers episode "Gourmet Night".

Whilst by no means a particularly sexy, fast or interesting car, to the generation (s) that grew up on the show, this may well be one of the most memorable scenes involving a car in TV history, outside of a car-focused show.

Only a video can explain these two. Loved this show as an early teenager.

Wondered if someone would mention this show! I bought the DVD of it some years back (it was released in 2008) as it was one I liked back in my childhood.

Should delve into my cupboards to try and watch it again sometime!

This was actually the truck from The Beverly Hillbillies show.

It actually did appear gussied up at one point, though. Seems to me it was a plot point in an episode, but I question the significance as it relates to the series. I'd refrain from mentioning Milburn's car for a similar reason, since he had a variety of Imperials over the show's run.

Ah ok I did not know that. I wasn't a huge Beverly Hillbillies watcher so I guess I never saw that episode. I do remember seeing Mr. Drysdale with a few different Imperials since that was one of the shows Chrysler sponsored.

Here's another one I had forgotten about from a show I still love today. Mr. Douglas's Lincoln Continental convertible from "Green Acres". Or I guess I need to say it correctly like Lisa, "Olivaaaaa" https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_234336-Lincoln-Continental-74A-1965.html 4 stars

That's how I feel about the Brady Bunch. They changed the cars all the time.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan but I'm sure I've seen most of the episodes through syndication, even if not in order.

Even in syndication I didn't really watch a lot of Beverly Hillbillies. Now Andy Griffith is another story. Except after Don Knotts left I don't really watch much of those episodes. Here is Andy Griffith's 1963 Ford Galaxie Patrol Car. 4 stars https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_59114-Ford-Galaxie-54B-1963.html

They have driven/crashed over 7,000 cars since 1996. You can probably post any car and claim it has been on the show.
As you could with Top Gear. I'm not sure how that would fit the brief of "the greatest television car in history" though.
I'll be taking suggestions from GTPlanet members of what the greatest television car in history was - or is.
And remember, I'll be cutting the list down before we have the GTPlanet poll to remove cars that were just not significant to their show. If it doesn't score at least three stars on IMCDB, it will likely not make it into the poll.

I edited my two entries to reflect how many stars they got on IMCDB.org.

The greatest (most iconic) television cars have already been posted. I'm going to vote for K.I.T.T., but I think it's a terrible car to own or drive. I had put COBRA 11 in here, because the series is running since 1996. Their cars are not that iconic, but I would pick that Porsche over any other TV series car.

An old tv show me and my brother used to watch: Stingray

Thank you for posting this. I always liked the main theme, but could not remember the name of the TV show. The car is a Corvette Stingray. I always thought it was a Shelby Cobra, but then the show name would have been "Cobra". Is there any other TV show featuring a Shelby Cobra?

1960 Chevrolet Corvette in powder blue, Route 66, CBS, 1960-1964, rated four stars on IMCDB. The car was updated to the latest model every year, and later cars have a higher rating at IMCDB, but I went with the first one since it's the car that made the show a success.
