You're welcome!

Here's a clip that explains it well, he's an elite driver.

so is this guy...

Controller sensitivity does nothing to a wheel user. Absolutely nothing, zero, nada. Trust me, if it does I would feel it 100% even if it was so tiny

Always felt like sort of grey area to me, i''m a controller user but have acces to feedback setting, which clearly doesn't apply for a DS5, but seems to have an effect on motionsteering, and now we also have 2 top wheel drivers who seems to be at a different angle on this.
I will follow this closely, there comes a day that the daughter flies out...... gameroom incomming then with a wheel setup

Maybe Ebrahim after the 1.49 update changed his mind !
well people have been promoting the idea since long before 1.49 so I doubt it. Just for myself, I can throw the controller sensitivity slider right from one extreme to the other and feel no difference at all on the wheel. 🤷‍♀️

otoh, it's not hurting anything either so even if it's just placebo, if it works for you it works for you. ;)

Did somebody say quick update!??

Not a single second wasted here and almost a one stop shot at Interlagos; not my favourite combo it has to be said. The Vulcan feels like a sort of hyper musclecar; very quick buy even on racing soft tyres very prone to understeer and snap oversteer. Doesn’t like trail braking at all which is quite frustrating at a technical track like Interlagos

If I had time I think I could have just squeezed a 1:25.xxx but as it’s four tenths (which is exactly equal to two corner exits @feral and bad 😘) it’s a stretch too far and I might be done here

Expecting @djolliea to come and obliterate us but happy at the top for now

I’m on holiday from the end of this week so will have to sacrifice at least one trial; can anyone give me an honest and succinct breakdown of the ‘new one’ pretty please and whether it’s worth crack? Seems like another combo where car doesn’t suit track 🙃

Well, you must have figured out 3 corners then, as you are exactly .600 faster than your time that was reported yesterday.
Absolutely incredible lap. Keep up the good work or whatever they call it in your galaxy.

The controller sensitivity setting also applies to steering wheels.
ok I will try thanks for the information !
The sensitivity I tend to have on -2 on the wheel now, as it gives smoother inputs and less snap oversteer.

It became very apparent recently in the AMG VC, in the first two rounds I was running it at 4 but after the update I was experiencing really bad understeer and crazy snap oversteer, I adjusted to -2 and it felt much smoother and helped keeping the car under better control but the Mercs physics have most definitely changed and feel awkward on the G29 now.

It is in my opinion much better than the Interlagos one. More natural. Requires patience and finding what suits you. If you watch Tidgney and Kie's videos, you will see they use different gearing approaches. Kie's worked better for me on the couple of runs I've had.

I usually don't fiddle around with controller sensitivity, I'm used to my settings and that's it.
By the way, I use DS4 and AT. But for the Viper TT I tried MT and with the advice of @Tidgney and some inspiration of @Metalgear9493 by watching his best lap, I shaved 0,5 seconds off my previous AT time in about 20 laps.
Never thought that I can get used to MT so fast, but here you only need gears 2,3 and 4.

Edit 0,7 seconds.....Alien in the making....

There must be something wrong in the air here, first the g29 failure, now internet not working.
Both have now a smoking gun (me for the g29, the company doing fiber wiring in my town the second), both with resolution TBD 😞

However, first try at autopolis with dualsense + hotspot

Would call it room for improvement 🤔

Holy moly! A gain of over 2 tenths today at Interlagos, and that was with a missed apex at turn 4. I'll take it, though!

Considering there are only two days left in the TT, I'm going to savor my current placing on my friends' list. Of course, I'm waiting for a couple of Scandinavians (@djolliea and @NAXEHT) to overtake me. But for the time being, I've only got @Dan_Tes above me. :dopey:

Hello there

Monday night, trouble to get sleep so time trial session it is... With a LOVELY improvement.

The lap wasn't 100% smooth, I had a few slips here and there but I still managed to match my best S2 and S3 all together in one go. S1 was average (for my standarts) but I'll take it.

That is probably my last push in this (very nice) time trial. 😎

Had some time tonight so couldn't help myself but to try the Viper... and I think it's more fun than the Aston Martin! It's also a bit of a boat, but as long as you accept that, then you can fling it around a little. If this was real life, I'd be pretty disappointed if I'd sunk my own money into one of these though!!

First 10 laps

I decided to give the Interlagos TT a miss for a while after buying a new Vulcan and aborting a lap on the last corner on day 2. Came back last night and put in a session of about 50km...

At first I wanted to see where I placed on a single lap against a friend I'm always trying to beat, as he had done the same thing. And first run put my right ahead of him but miles down the leaderboard.

192fb39bc1668-d16110F7B19399D8D4E.5813BD5398E5A252_message_443073819954401_1730757109196.jpg

Then another attempt and I managed a fluke lap amongst some very inconsistent scrappy laps. Scraped into silver.

192fb39cb5420-d16110F7B19399D8D4E.5813BD5398E5A252_message_443074029494947_1730757927714.jpg

Then I settled in and managed to start finding a decent rhythm in a car that's tricky on a circuit that does my head in.

After that I jumped into my other Vulcan and headed to Interlagos for the Hypercar Parade race to try get my head around driving this thing. Same conditions and settings, practically, so it seems a good way to bank some coin and practice the combo. I managed a low 28 while running in clear air, so I'm confident I'll be able to extract more time in the TT and hopefully nab a gold.

That is a nice pickup right there mate!, nice steady lap!
You are save from me  , i left Interlagos looooonnggg ago and don't plan to go back, but in all fairness....
I doubt i could .5xx it cause i did try very hard on my last session there ;)

So well done finding that miracle lap AGAIN :lol:

Nive entry as always buddy!
Weird combo indeed but nice, fast and on the edge, but not that great to extend my one week to two :lol:

Then my honest oppinion on the Viper...
It's not that bad of a combo ONCE you figure out how to get the front tires to work in some way, it's just nose heavy like crazy with a big tendency to oversteer....but.... you cant realy rotate it by throttle midcorner, you'll just get understeer like crazy.
But once you understand you can't just trow it around it is doable...... but the road to the medal is not realy my cup of Lungo.

I think key to this one is "don't try to be fast"..... "less is more"...... "slow seems fast" and most important... PATIENCE
Have a nice vacation buddy, relaxe and enjoy!

That all said, .... i woke up today and wasn't realy motivated but got some laps in anyway.
First went to a high 2:00.6xx and was a bit done, it's not the best combo for the controller either becease it doesn't rotate...... the stick gets a real beating

But went out again after a made coffey again and got one more descent lap in, despite some bad and missed apexes and oversteer correction moments i went to a 2:00.448.

Happy and that's it for me for the Viper, i'll await the next one!

Good luck guys

Saved the replay ingame under "Viper" in case you want to follow or check.

I don't know, man. I tried last night and I'm further away than I expected to be. Pushed it unsuccessfully and don't really want to try again today but I guess I'll try a bit in the afternoon after work. No long late night stuff though. Too much power and too little downforce on this thing, the amount of T3 failures is getting a tad tedious.

Quite late to the party for this one just to find out I don't enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. Usually low grip, low downforce street car plays to my strength in TT but I just can't wrap my head around this one mainly due to the track. I would imagine SuperGT/JGTC (Gr.2 basically) level of grip and downforce may be more fun on Autopolis like they do IRL.

Again incredibly close between us @Gomario JSP @A_Higher_Place @Dolph Drago @Nebuc72 at high 2:00 range when I did my lap on Sunday afternoon but you have since gained 3/10th on us @Gomario JSP! Well done man . I don't see myself gaining on you here as Sector 2 & 3 were my absolute best and maybe just 1/10th in my sector 1.

Nice lap mate!, S2 we al almost identical 1:01.943 to 1:01.892 so it's all in the third sector 😁, which is by far the most difficult with this ....thing....
Smelling the throttle on T15 means oversteer already 🤣🤣, nice job!

Well, well... eventually hooked it up good enough last night. :D Pretty tricky though.

Well I’ll tell you what, I’ll post coz I got it to turn…! Occasionally!

Might be a one hit wonder this one, first and maybe last day in the viper (unless we can go again tomorrow) and yeah… everything you guys said it was, it is. I actually really like it, it’s very controllable over the limit even on sports hard tyres, strange considering how difficult the M3 was the other week but that’s GT7 in a nutshell!

However, steery cheat mode gets a run out here because I don’t have the time to learn the limits for power oversteer, CSA strong got me consistent laps in fact I rarely had a red lap.. always a sign of a good car!

But yeah overcook a corner and that thing turns into an oil tanker

Still fun though more so than the AM at Interlagos in my opinion!

This is the hardest time trial when it comes to throttle control. The tip of my right index finger was hurting a lot as the first joint rests on the edge of the R2 button. I don't think that's ever happened before. My brother really set a stonking time here, which I suppose is down to his superior track knowledge compared to me. I'm not sure if it's worth staying up until 11:30 for the next week to beat it.
