I don't know, I'm really tired this morning, see I've been up 35 hours, I usually stay up about 2 days at a time, maybe I should start the Le Mans TT tomorrow, I need some rest. And I mean adequate sleep.
Or maybe you should do as most people do and cycle through 24h days, with regular hours where you go to sleep and wake up ?

Is it your job that requires you to do such unusual schedule ? Or any other constraint that you can't avoid ?

Don't know your age, but for my 47 years, I need a regular and balanced sleep schedule to remain as active as I am.
I'd be good for nothing with your sleeping habits, don't know how you manage that.

Anyway, sleep well and good practice at Le Mans "tomorrow".

I'm 32, I turn 33 in September. I have Insomnia, meaning my body can't sleep for a day and a half to 2 days. It's crazy in a way.

Had to run and look whether mine are still there. Also with the performance kit or whatever it is called... The clutch could be firmer but I still like those. Have fun!
I never use the clutch. Maybe when I get back into Dirt Rally one day, I'll find use for it.
I will be changing both clutch and throttle to the stiffer black springs. I find the red too light.

I went to the track and tried a lot to get that Bronze sideways. Honestly there was no way I could get a whole lap done. Some single corners might give cool photos but I have to quit and my admirance for your drifting has doubled. 🤙 Now I will try to get faster, straight and more often on the track... 🙄

Yep, the sports mediums don't help. Too much grip and it when it bites it just throws you.
Thanks for your kind words mate. We will meet for a tandem very soon.

Nice, the pedals came, :)

How much did that cost you?

Thanks Chris.
Considering the prices of those things here in SA, I got them for steal at approx 420 USD.

New test today in Catalunya and improve my time at 1'51'726

With TC at 0 like my friend @Gomario JSP said yesterday !!!!

Let's make one thing clear here. GT7 is a fantastic game. But it is in no way close to an accurate sim. Not even close!

In order to achieve alien times you see on the leaderboard or to be fast in general, you need to bw able downshift into second or first gear using the engine braking to slow down and rotate the car. Downshifting into lower gears while going over 260kph!

In the real world there's absolutely ZERO chance of you doing this or you will find your self detonating your engine with bent valves and locked wheels straight into the wall.

Asseto corsa or I racing is far closer to the real world experience. Especially when it comes to gears and engine braking.
I'd love to see someone quantify this. I have plenty of track time in many different cars in the real world and the tenets of driving are just as present in GT7 as they are in AC and iR. An engine not blowing up is not a measure of the "realism" of a game. All these games have their shortcomings, but I think some people just like to feel superior for playing harder to access games not on a console. There are multiple IRL race drivers that support GT7 being an accurate, if not excessively precise, driving simulator.

@P-Courty My attempt at a sideways bronze. I am last on my friends leader board :D
Didn't spend too much time on this. It is fun though to drift against the clock.
The sports mediums have way too much grip for decent drifting.

Apologies for the potato quality upload.

That chicane was beautiful, great lap.

Watching that and the speed you were going, I am now thinking this may be pretty hard to do 😂

Brilliant to watch.

@Gorefast @LSFDRX guess it's our turn now
Oh man, the pressure is on now! The balance between slip angle and speed is going to be a delicate thing to get a 1:54 lap... yeesh.

I was going waaay deeper into drifts in my last session and probably waaay into the 2 minute mark for the laps. This one is going to be tough to pull off!

Unfortunately I'm about 400 miles away from my rig at the moment, and my attempt is going to have to wait until Sunday night or Monday morning 😑.

Until then, everyone keep posting up those killer fast laps and awesome drift laps too!

OK champions, have a question to hear your feedback. I am ok with my time on Catalunya with AMG, it is 1:51.3** currently, so it's not bad time but I do have one two tenth in me which I have hard time to nail. And I am wondering is it because I am on gyro and have hard time for very smooth inputs, or you who are on wheel or sticks on controller 🎮 find it also tricky to balance between acceleration, input and losing it so it starts drifting and -0.1 deltas are changing into +0.2 easily?
Please if you are replying on my question, state if you are on wheel or controller and if you use any assists?
I'll chime in here to agree with you and the other posters. There is a very fine line where the car starts oversteering. It happens pretty quickly. I always get oversteer in the middle of turn 3 no matter how I attack the corner. Turn 9 and the final corner can be nail biters, too. You feel good going in before you suddenly feel the back end getting loose. I got sideways exiting turn 9 on my fast lap and am sure I lost a bit of time compared to if I had been able to gather it up and have a smoother exit. Sometimes you catch it, sometimes you end up power slide. Good luck with that!

And I don't think it matters your input. I'm on DS4 with the trigger for gas and stick for turning.

One thing that is nice about the Mercedes here is that getting into oversteer doesn't automatically kill a lap like a lot of other cars. We can lean into the oversteer on throttle and power through it with some opposite lock without taking a big time hit.

This car is good.

Eergh....everytime I put in opposite lock I watch the ghost pull ahead until the next turn 🥲

Failed to make my 2.00% personal goal which would have been 3:19.810. I honestly am out of talent as well as time to put into this one. It is possible that a lot more time and effort would yield a consistent enough lap, but as someone on here said, the juice isn't worth the squeeze, at least to me. Optimal was xx.230, but if it isn't the Mulsanne bollards, it is the last chicane. I'm not fast enough to get into trouble anywhere else.

Nah...let's use a dance pad 🤣

sorry a bit of not gt7 related :D

Now she should do it with a wheel and pedals 😂 I'm one week away from a 3 week holiday break. Gonna start Elden Ring (a friend is telling me for over a year how great it is) which will be my very first FromSoftware game 😅

Also I really hope the next couple of TTs will be good and I can sink a lot of time into them. Lately i only do the TT on the day they come out and I get into gold. 🙈

Maybe something like the one with the Dino which was sooo much fun.

You're quite a bit quicker than me. If I could keep it tight and out of oversteer all together I might eat my words. Haha.

A big problem of mine is that the oversteer calls to me... once it's there it's sooo hard to resist the urge to slide. It's a curse!
Ohh...I do kick the rear out, but it is to get the car into the neutral steer state so I can get the car to rotate. Tha's how I take turn 7, 9 and the final turn.

I am not fast here nor do I have the control that you fast guys do but I will say, numerous times I've caught the slide in a way that carries me exactly around the apex and absolutely hammers out a corner. This car is phenomenal but so incredibly lively it's really hard to nail. Such a fun drive.

I have to say that I normally don't like Catalunya much, but this this car is actually quite fun to drive on this track.

Mind you, it is not that easy. However, the car does rotate very nicely during corner entry. If done right, you can absolutely stand on the throttle when exiting the corner.

Thanks! It's not that difficult, should take you a few laps.
I know your replay will be epic!
Well it took me some time yesterday to even get a full lap in under 2:01.*** and the keep the car 'stable'.

That thing just hits a certain angle and theres no going back, at one angle you get a huge speed boost which, if you don't control it, sends you to the outside of the track and then off.

If you go over the angle your facing the other way in a split second 🤣

I also found the LSD in this is strange for trying to drift, if you let of throttle it rotates more instead of less, that was catching me out so many times.

This car also doesn't Scandinavian flick at all so you have to jump on and of throttle to upset it at the corner entry or apex on some.

There was corners that I struggled to go sideways so I did skip some.

You did such a good job of it, here's my attempt... although I recorded it and saved a thumbnail, I forgot to save the actual replay 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

I did make a quick drift inspired livery though.

@MUC76 for your viewing pleasure, @Gorefast @LSFDRX your turn 😅
