yeah, i got 422km/h on the test course in the Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo '92, but i was drafting some car on the Megaspeed Cup

400 kmh in a fully tuned Skyline.
I read somewhere of people getting 420 kmh +.
How? I dont know.I tuned that car to hell and couldnt get any more out of it.

Checked my oldest longest game, and it has 261mph for a new [R]Supra RZ.
That's a shade over 420km/hr if my calculations are correct?
Minimize aero, and tweak the gears are the main things I do. Other people say use max ride height and soft suspension, but I've never seen much correlation between such changes and max speed.
I race the Max Speed course backwards, turning around once I've got a good speed, so that it gets recorded. But than only gets me an extra 2 or 3 mph maybe, and I should be able to match any speed I've achieved backwards going forwards.
Perhaps the aero simulation is different in the PAL version?
I may have slightly higher speeds recorded somewhere else too.
And in the Mega-Speed event Test Track race you can get a good draft slingshot to send you up to around 300mph.

All cars were non hybrid and fully tuned. Times were done drafting in the high speed cup on the test course race. The Supra can keep higher speeds when in the corners, this helps especially with the tighter track of gt1. Of course I'm sure my setup could be improved, this must have been about 6 years ago!
Fastest non draft is a 261 in a supra.
With a perfect draft I think 300 is possible.

Everyone was in a huge group drafting one another, the Supra behind picked up speed behind me hit me in the back, my GTO got out of its rpm dead spot, blasted off, a car was on either side of me and a skyline in front, I had no here to go except for into the back of the skyline, wowz3rs.

I clearly remember 265MPH with my Supra RZ, non-drafting, days of fine tuneing.
