Erm, that last link, although informative, describes THE ENTIRE PLOT OF THE DARK OF THE MOON.

Jus sayin'.....

Thanx for the info and linx, FK

:irked:👍

Impossible, Michael Bay Transformer films don't have plots.

Impossible, Michael Bay Transformer films don't have plots.

Sure they do:

Large MacGuffin is the only thing that will determine the outcome of an alien race's civil war.
Humans talk about it for an hour or more.
The aliens start fighting each other and the humans choose a side.
Humans save the day.

rinse, wash, repeat two more times.

And I thought it was just "crash, bang, wallop, phwoar Megan Fox/Rosie Huntington-Whitely" wash, rinse, repeat. Mr Bay has gone up in my estimation...from Ebola to Cholera.

Wrong order:

Megan Fox/Rosie Huntington-Whitely ass shot (that's what those in the biz call a hook)
whoa whoa whoa whoa, go go go go
crash, bang, wallop, phwoar
wash, rinse, repeat

Saw this last night. Found it quite entertaining and looked amazing in 3D. Probably one of the best uses of 3D I've seen in some time.

I'm not a diehard fan of transformers but nor do I go to a movie like this expecting a great story. It was entertaining which is what I want in this type of movie.

I saw this last week, I wasn't impressed. Better than Revenge of the Fallen, but as the end of the trilogy it could have finished far better. Plus Rosie's acting makes Megan Fox seem like an Oscar nominee. Maybe after her comments and subsequent firing, they hired a hotty without the ability to think and just add eye wateringly stunning scenery...

My main gripe with the film was that all of the decepticons are silver, and its very hard in places to make out which is which as quickly as they flash by on screen.

I haven't bothered with this film, nor the previous one. I did see the 2007 Bay film and it told me all I needed to know where these sequels were going. Funnily enough, sounds like I was correct avoiding them.

The 1986 animated film still wins and is easily one of my favourite films of all time. Not only do humans barely feature in it but when they do, they are effectively supporting characters.

I still can't get over the terrible action scenes of today which feature the typical shaky cameras to make it "realistic amateur-style footage". I want to see the robots fight in their supposedly detailed CGI..but I can never see any of it because the camera work is too busy shaking about and looking the wrong way to somehow simulate some amateur cameraman. What is the point in paying to watch a film when its busy trying to make it hard for you to watch in an attempt to pretend its real-life, on-the-scene amateur footage? Utterly frustrating.

Does anyone actually get a sense of immersion from shaky cameras? I don't know if Transformers 3 is that bad for it, but certainly Transformers 2007 was and many other films today.

Yeah they fixed that bit.

You can see most of the key moments in super slo-mo.

But there is never any sense of immersion.

You should download/rent the fallen, and then this when it's available though, as both are worth sitting through once.

I really don't know what people expect when they go see these kinds on movies. They are for entertainment and in my opinion it was entertaining. No I'm not going to buy it and watch it over and over but it was good and I enjoy it for what it is. You don't go to Transformers expecting a great storyline or award winning acting...well atleast you shouldn't be.

This is all true.... If only Michael Bay had realised that too. It all builds up to this massive war, and you are eagerly awaiting the final clash of the top guns.... Only to find its over in a couple of minutes and then just sort of ends.

Looks like I'll be going to watch this on Monday next week with a mate who's down in the dumps, he talked me round with the "take a bullet for the team" line...you can't back out of that. I haven't seen the first two but based on FK's plot synopsis I think I'm up to speed.

I might be sneeky though and book tickets for the 2D version unless he beats me to it...

Previous films are almost completely irrelevant. Just know they came to Earth in a tizzy and Megatron got some hurt put on him last film. Everything else is irrelevant to this film. Oh, and Bumblebee and Sam are good buddies.

Megatron is the gun, right?

No. In fact, he's on like his third alt-mode in this film.

Which brings me back to my rant about the Autobots' alt-modes in certain situations. Covert Ferrari?

Oh...that doesn't make any sense...please tell me Shockwave is in it and is still a gun.

Yes, and no. Shockwave is in and appears to be the closest any character from the films comes to their G1 counterpart, but his alt mode is...odd.

We just watched this last weekend and it was pretty good. I think I like the 1st and 3rd the most. Didnt enjoy the 2nd movie much at all. I wanted to see it in 3d but it wasnt playing in 3d when we went to see it.

I don't know if you recall this, but after the 1986 series people were complaining about Megatron turning into a gun so basically everything (including these past three movies) that was Transformers have had Megatron turning into something else(my favorite being the tank from one series). Even in the ROTF movie game where you could unlock his G1 form, he doesn't turn into a gun.

Since I haven't seen the movie (don't live anywhere near a movie theater nor can I afford it), I can't say anything about Shockwave other then he's there. Technically though, he was a giant laser in the series if memory serves meh right.

That does ring a bell although it seems a bit ridiculous to remove one large gun from a movie featuring lots of large guns, not at all surprising though. To my 8 year old self Shockwave was just a big purple gun but I do remember a red LED light in the barrel...which broke!

He wasn't even a big gun. He was a handgun that relied on Starscream or Soundwave to fire him. But then he became Galvatron and transformed into a fully mounted disintegrator cannon. And that was the end of Starscream (or was it).

You've just ruined my childhood antihero :(

In fact in hindsight he's not as cool as I remember...

Come to think of it, I can't even remember what the big draw was to Shockwave. He always failed yet Megatron never gave him anywhere near the amount of scolding he usually did to Starscream.

Megatron's original G1 alt mode.

It looks even more ridiculous when he goes back to bot mode at the end and the huge mass shifting is obvious.

Nothing is as bad as Astro train carrying Devastator and then transforming into a robot barely a 5th of his size.

What?

Shockwave is the coolest Decepticon ever.

2.

Try and buy him.

I mean, like G1 him.

And Neal, shockwave wasn't fired by starscream and turned into Galvatron, that was Megatron, which I think is exactly what FK was telling you, but I think the context got a bit mixed up there somewhere.

To clarify:

Shockwave: Cybertron commander, hangs about by space bridges, speex to Megs when he's a bit stuck on earth and needs to fetch stuff over and things.

Megatron: Decepticon commander, hangs about by starscream, speex to all his Decepticons like they're vermin, and wants to kill the autobots.

G1:

Shockwave is a robot that turns into a futuristic cannon. He's purple.
He is also a cyclops, and Uber-cool.

Megatron is a robot that turns into a Walther pistol. He's gun-metal grey/silver/black.
He has two eyes, and is not as cool as Shockwave. Or Soundwave. Or Ravage. Or Frenzy. Or Blitzwing. Or Lugnut.

New films:

Shockwave has just turned up in number 3, and is not really a cannon anymore, but he is still purple, and by far the uber-coolest Decepticon.

Megatron turns up in the first film, as a robot, then a flying plane-thing, then he does some tank-like stuff, and then finally, by the third movie; he's a truck.

No gun there.

Apart from his arm, but then they all have arms that turn into guns these days, otherwise the toys wouldn't be as cool.

Hope that bores you to tears helps.......

yeah I missed megan too in T3.

Watched it over the weekend, and now transformers bleed red??
Wow. They adapt quick.

Some minor complaints like the blood thing, still some stereotypes in like in T2 that nobody liked.

Other than that 👍 good film, I like transformers so,...

Still the whole breakup between Megan and Shia seems way off after the first 2 movies...
