I decided to play on my 360 today, so I hooked it up to my TV via SCART and switch the source to EXT-1 like normal (it's an old Xbox, no HDMI). To my horror, the TV displayed a very bright white and I had to switch the TV off before my eyes melted. At first I assumed it was my 360 on it's way out, but the same thing happens when I plug my PS2 in and when I switch the source to DTV (where the actual TV channels are). I've messed around with the brightness settings but it's not helped at all. Google wasn't very helpful, although from what I read, this problem is a sign that the components inside are on their way out.
The funny thing is, HDMI works perfectly still. Perhaps my TV just wants me to play on the PS3 and not the 360?
The TV is a Hitachi L22HP04U and I've had it for about 2 years now. Warranty ran out last year. Is there a way to fix this without shelling out for new parts or am I stuck with a TV that only displays in HDMI now?
Any help is appreciated. 👍
