Seeing as how there might be some interest for this...

My write-up of the Type R Amateur series.

I had to take my Spoon Civic (won from FF pro) shopping first, as I couldn’t keep up with the NSX Type R. So here’s what I bought: Sports Brakes, Racing Transmission, Medium Tires, Racing muffler, NA Stage 2, and a racing chip.

I pocket 70,000cr for the series and walk away with the Mugen S2000. As you notice by the time comparisons, I over did the mods. It’s likely I could have skipped the muffler, and gone with an NA Stage 1 tune-up. It is also likely I could have only gone with the Muffler.

I didn't do the save before last race trick, as I wasn't concerned with the vehicle that I won.

AO:

You mention that you also did this with an ITR, in the other thread. I also see that the ITRs are quite a bit off the pace amoung the AI cars. Can you post your writeup of the Beginner series as well, in the Civic? That's what I need to do next, and I'd be interested to see it. Thanks!
PS - are you going to publish your diary some day?

Well, this should be interesting. With a totally stock Honda ITR I just beat the second place cars in the Beginner R series by at least 3 to more than 11 seconds, starting from 6th. That was driving fairly easily on normal tires, too.

I should run the Amateur events stock for comparison and see how it shapes up. BTW I saw your Beginner R series writeup, AO. These are great to read through. Thanks for collecting and publishing them!

Beginner Type R Championship
CAR: Honda Integra Type R
DETAILS: As far as i can remember, i beat the AI cars easily, and won every race without too much trouble.

Amateur Type R Championship
CAR: Honda Integra Type R
DETAILS: I only tried one race in this series, and my teggy only had 276hp (NA, not turbo) and i started to catch up with the NSX, and by the end i think i was about 2 seconds away.

I'm thinking of buying a black HITR or AITR (I think the Acura has less hp though) and tuning it up for racing.
Because i don't want to ruin the 900km+ Type R i have at the moment.
