If you start an endurance race with Standard Tyres, you can switch to sports in a pit stop, or even mix them if you wish. This usually helps max out A-Spec points...

If you start on Normal Tyres you are stuck with Normal Tyres. When pitting you will be given the option to switch to Sports Tyres but it does not work - you will leave the pits with the same tyres you went in on.

The only thing you can do, if trying to get more a-spec points is start on N1s (Economy) and then switch to N3s (Road) on the first stop.

Not true, I noticed a big difference durring 4h on the ring, pitting every other lap. Tyre wear and grip differ greatly. I ultimately, driving an RS4 used normal road on the back and sports med up front. It made for some interesting laps, and ultimately great lap times.
Note: Once you go to another race/ track your tyres will be as they were when you started the previous track.
