Can we please have support for .webp files to be uploaded as images in forum posts. Every site nowadays seems to default image downloads to .webp, including GTPlanet. However, the image below is a screenshot of the issues I get when uploading any file. I run a thread that requires me to post the same image in multiple threads, and it is often easier to download and reupload it, but this doesn't work as it downloads as a webp and then isn't recognised upon reupload.

Could this be looked into please.

Having a WebP image and needing to embed it to the site, forcing me to save it as a PNG is a familiar procedure to me at this point.

Some of the pictures in the F1 Caption threads end up as 2nd or 3rd generation screenshots if I end up doing the updates on a different device to the original picture being downloaded.

WebP uploads cannot currently be supported, but the functionality will be added in the next forum software update. I hope to be able to roll that out sometime in January.

Which images are you trying to post? You should be able to just grab the URL and keep embedding it, there's no need to keep re-uploading.

For example, this picture of Alonso and Lawson.

Needed to be posted here
And then here

Let me try and copy the photo here. The issue I run into is these pictures have to be uploaded directly to the post in the first place. They can be jpg or PNG when uploaded, but end up as webp if I try to do anything from there.

It seems you solved your issue yourself with a simple and plain reference to the same file as @Jordan mentioned?
Doesn't solve the issue of files originally downloaded as webp files being unable to upload. Download an image off Reddit and it won't upload here
