I did this one over the weekend, and thought some people might like the info. Seems to get asked for alot. Beginner and Pro level.

Vitz series – Beginner
I jumped in the Vitz and went shopping. Knowing that I’ll use this car extensively for 2 series races I just blew Wads of cash and went for an outright win. Started at 109 HP. (637,945cr.) Oil Change, Racing muffler, port polish, balancing, chip and Stage 2 turbo brings me up to 294 HP. Super Slicks and slicks were purchased as well. Lightened it as much as possible, brakes, Balance…all that good stuff. (498,945cr) Hey, it’s only cash?!?

Vitz Series Race – Professional
Rome Circuit 2

These are the Settings I used:
Springs: Front 10.0; Rear 12.0
Ride Height: 89 mm (F&R)
Bound 7 (F&R)
Rebound 7 (F&R)
Camber: Front 3.5; Rear 2.0
Toe Angle: 0 (F&R)
Stabilizers: Level 3
Brakes: 24 (F&R)
LS Initial: 10
LS Accel: 20
LS Decel: 20
Gearing: Autosetting 22
Final: 4.300
AMS=1
TCS=1
Super Slicks on the front, Slicks on the rear.

Qualified with a 1’38.668. 1.472 Seconds on first place.
Which I shouldn’t have, as I got nailed in the first corner by all 5 of the AI, leaving me in last place.

I never Pitted, 2 AI pitted on lap 5 and 3 AI pitted on lap 6 (by this time I had a 12 second advantage).
I finished with Yellow Tires on the front and Green on the rear.

Best Lap: 1’37.730
Total Time: 16’36.368
Average Lap: 1'39.637

Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +39.977
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +40.753
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +41.885
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +42.381
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +43.456

Laguna Seca
I took the lead on Lap 3 and never let it go. Started from Last place.
AI Pitted on lap 6, I never pitted, and ended with Yellow Front and Green Rear tires.

Best Lap: 1’32.222
Total Time: 15’44.415
Average Lap: 1'34.442

Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +26.889

Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +30.964
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +32.525
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +34.179

Test Course:
Adjusted the settings:
Camber: Front 1.0; Rear 0.4
Autosetting: Level 27

Best Lap: 2’24.863
Total Time: 24’25.809
Average Lap: 2'26.581

Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1 lap

I was about 10 seconds shy of lapping the AI again.
I ended with 3 green/blue tires, and one blue tire.
If I had spent 10 minutes messing with the settings I may have gained a few seconds. As it was, I took the corners at 158-159, and topped out at 161-162 on the straight.

If I could make the pole position in qualifying at the next race, I could walk away with the series win, based on points. Decided instead to race the SS11.

Special Stage Route 11 2
Reloaded settings from before the Test course, and went for it.
Took a beating, so I had to adjust the settings. Here’s what they now look like:
Springs: 6.0 (F); 4.0 (R)
Camber: 2.0 (F); 2.0 (R)
Toe Angle: 2.0 (F); -2.0 (R)

Everything else stayed the same.

I didn’t grab the lead until lap 5. AI pitted on lap 6 except one car who pitted on lap 5, and 9.

Results:
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +33.387
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +38.064
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +39.995
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +47.722
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +57.594 (pitted twice)

Best Lap: 2’12.747
Total Time: 22’35.425
Average Lap: 2'15.543

This has been the toughest race so far. Knowing the results, now, I think I could have won without playing with the settings.

Series Points standings now:

Me: 40 points
2nd place: 19
3rd place: 12
4th place: 12
5th place: 11
Last place: 10

Exit out of this race, and win the Altezza LM race car.

At this point I went back and won the last race in the series. By exiting out of the previous race, I screw my 100% win ratio. Maybe my next time around, I’ll shoot for that.

Grand Valley Speedway 2.

Best Lap: 2’08.375
Total Time: 21’44.112
Average Lap: 2'10.411

I took the lead at the end of lap 2, and ran away from the pack at that point.
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’22.061
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’23.123
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’23.221
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’24.833
Vitz RS 1.5 (J): +1’25.214

AI pitted on laps 4 and 8.
This race irritated me. I got bumped by the AI, and slid sideways. I got back under control and gained back on the AI that nudged me. I slammed him and his rear wheels broke traction. Never lost his line. I think PD has a few things to look at for GT4.

That's a good article Der Alta, well played!

I've recently done this series, and was surprised by how easy it was. The AI pitting is a silly strategy, but it's fun fighting with them until they pit, then you can just manage the gap.

I used a slight negative toe on the front to help turn-in under braking, and a huge negative toe on the rear, to aid mid-corner turning. Also, I lowered the car to the minimum front and rear, and used 4.0 stabilisers front and rear.

On choosing gear ratios, go really low. I think I used Auto 21/22 for most of the races, except the Test Course. Remember on the Test Course to give yourself some headroom on the gear ratios for drafting.

nice writeup. i started this race a couple weeks back, but i quit after 30sec of the first race. it seemed to me like it was going to be bumper cars the whole race, and i wasnt in the mood. guess ill give it a shot later.

The test course saps any energy you may have. I'm in my 3rd trip through the game, and have raced this series too many times already.

I'm getting close to 40% of the game and have written all the races up like this. When I get done, I'm hoping to post a compendium of sorts.

Cool! That would be great.

Maybe it's just me, but my Vitz feels like it's on drugs. Even with some NA tuning work, it still takes forever to accelerate, yet it always seems to be at the redline, complaining for an upshift.

The handling balance is quite good for a FWD car but the engine acts like it's been snorting Oxycontin or something. I can't understand why the Euro Vitzs run away from me, when according to specs, I have a much better P/W ratio than they do.

I guess there's nothing for it but to install a hairdryer to get my HP 'way up.

Cheers mate, just what I needed. I'm gonna have to do the Yaris Pro Championship soon, and heard it was a b***h to do, so your little guide will be a great start for me.

Cheers

everything was great until SS11, i used your settings.

i was too tired to try and do 10 laps of the second worst track... BACKWARDS, in the worst car in the game. slow as hell with MAD understeer.

yeah...SS 11 backwards seemed like a b***h, so i just skipped it. Just a word of advise on the series though....
If there seems to be one car that keeps pulling second place the first couple races, when u get to the test course, you can easily make sure that he (or she ;) ) finishes last. You should be able to lap them all pretty easily, so when you're a lap ahead of them just cut in front of the second place car and slam on your brakes. some people might call it cheating...but screw it. Keep doin this til he's got quite a way to go to catch up to the rest of the pack, if he's unable to draft...he's pretty much screwed and wont catch up. definately helps increase the gap between first place and second place, especially if you didnt clinch first at laguna seca

Thank u very much... I've won al the 5 races!
The 1st two races and the last one, I was faster, but the 3rd and 4th u were a little bit faster! :)
But thx a lot for this "guide" 👍
It's just perfect!!!
