Well I'm not a fan of Nissan's but damn that thing has to just fly. I'll give credit when and where it's due and its due right now for that car.

VQ35 Swap (out of a Maxima/Altima) in an SE-R, which usually has the QR25 (also found in lesser Altimas)

I wonder how the handling's been affected...

[Tommy Boy voice]Big engine in a LITTLE car[/Tommy Boy voice]

That thing is sweet. I'm not a real fan of the newer Sentra, but that all hinges on the fact that the QR35 is just a bland engine. This solves that in spades. Sweet combo, and THE definition of a sleeper. Thats just sweet.

Well, the Altima is only about 175lbs heavier with the VQ in it instead of the QR, so shouldn't be too bad. Don't get me wrong, 175lbs isn't a tiny bit of weight, especially in a car that small. But, its not as if the car is now 500lbs heavier. Should get along just fine.

The handling has not been affected. The engine only weighs an extra 50lbs, not even. With relocated battery into the trunk, and cf hood, the weight will be lost, maybe even more then that 50lbs :)

Not trying to start any crap, but I don't think its THAT light. Like I said in my second post, the Altima, which is available with both of the engines in question, weighs just over 175lbs more with the VQ. I don't doubt that the VQ is a fairly light V6 engine, being that its all aluminum. But, its a good chunk more engine than the inline-4 QR.

Either way though, I agreed with you. I doubt the engine added enough weight to the car to throw it off the scale of decent handling.

The person who did the swap had posted that there is only a 50 weight difference, because the QR is a pretty heavy 4cyl. Im just restating what i have read. The V6 altima may weigh that much more, because afterall, it has alot of feature the 4cyl doesnt have.

Whooo... faster than a 350Z, with a stock engine, to boot. Wonder what that could do with a 300hp VQ? Dayumn....
