2nd place feels very satisfying and although it seemed close in the results, l think Joe had it under control.

Tbh this series deserves a full grid. Would be even more exciting.

First race is out of the way, and aside from some first race hiccups, it went fairly well, very excited to keep the ball rolling this weekend in Kyoto, but first a couple notes.
1) Some people had issues with refueling due to the lap 1 crash in Brazil. There is a contingency for tracks with rapid pit lanes where leniency is given for 1 liter to be acceptable during early pit stops. That contingency was not used in Brazil because in my own personal data, there was enough time to respond accordingly.
2) During safety car periods, cars that pit for repairs or tires will be moved to the rear of the safety car queue when they rejoin the track. Some confusion occurred on Saturday, but the cars that rejoined and slowed did the correct thing.
3) Teams that need a reserve driver must confirm that choice by 10:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time on Friday, 13 September.

They can make minor changes to their existing livery. They don't get an exception.

Hope everyone has had a nice week off, but it's time to get back into it with another two week burst, starting at Barcelona. There have been some rule changes, so here's a run down.
1) For a tire stint to be deemed legal, each driver must run at least 5 consecutive laps on each compound of tire.
2) Safety car periods will now be a mandatory minimum of 2 full laps. This is in place to help drivers who may have missed full car repairs the first lap through, as seen in Kyoto and Brazil. Safety car periods caused by starting lap crashes will result in a grid re-formation in the order of the field at the end of the period.
3) Qualifying Session 1 will be shortened from 20 to 15 minutes.

As usual, teams that need a reserve driver must confirm that choice by 10:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time on Friday, 13 September.

Love how this season is very much "let's lay foundations and iron out the kinks as we go." Its bold to throw a full season out there off the bat, but you get more interest and more cars which influences how quickly the rules evolve.

While I had my reservations in Race 1 about refuelling and the zero tolerance ruling, going to hold my hand up and say that my prep work on the pitstops in Race 2 came a race too late and I cost myself a 5th at Brazil.

One rule change has been implemented for the season, and it will be retroactively applied to the entire season:
-Drivers entered into events as a third entry for any team will be able to score points towards only the Driver's Championship. Teams that run three cars for a race weekend will continue to only score Team Championship points from the two designated Primary entries, or the direct substitute of a primary entry.
