What did you do in GT7 today?

I just completed the weekly races for the 500,000 cr final bonus, then I purchased the Nissan R32 to complete the Group A menu that earned me a 5-star ticket, but I only won a crummy Ferrary purchase invitation with that (Seriously ban this for GT8). Oh, and my crummy 10,000 cr from the crummy 3-star daily ticket for completing the marathon.

In sport mode I did enough with the Citröen VGT to place in the bronze times, so in 9-days' time I'll get 250,000 cr. I really can't see getting a silver because that pig doesn't turn and doesn't brake.

Experiment day

The 30 minute PP700 race at Le Mans, in my experience, usually has weather ranging from a few sprinkles and a small amount of standing water to torrential rain resulting in over 2/3 water depth on the HUD gauge

And I often win on tyre choice strategy since the AI cars will tend to go out onto the wet track using RH tyres or worse

SO ... I figured "why not ASSUME rain, fit IM tyres and tune up power to the max?". (Precluding the fitting of dry weather tyres)

Experiment 1 was with the Mazda 787B. Almost no sprinkles, definitely NO standing water. (Never seen such a drought before). Pitted after 2 laps, again after 4 laps and nursed the tyres over the final 3 laps. No refueling. Crossed the line in 4th position with the left rear tyre totally worn out and running on fumes

Experiment 2 was better using the BAC Mono ’16. Easy to get 3 laps out of IM tyres and fuel. Finished 1st by less than 0.4 seconds because again, the water was abnormal. Almost no rain. A brief period of standing water to about 1/6 depth on the HUD gauge.

I suspect that had there been usual rain in these experiments, I would have won both races easily since the IM tyres would have worn more slowly and the competition would have been penalized by the slick conditions

PS my BAC is very non-standard. 368 HP. 243.3 ft-lb. 2,674 cc. Weight = 1279 lbs.
Bored up. Balanced. Ports polished. Titanium pistons and rods
Racing crank. High compression pistons. Racing clutch and flywheel.
Racing air filter and muffler. Drilled disks with Racing pads (despite this the braking is lousy).

Just running laps. This car is whole lot of fun when you get it to 300HP with SH tires 👍🏻😁

I bought the Porsche 911 GT1 strassenversion for 10 million. Great car too and still going to have around 10 million for the spec 3 update which should be fine? Feel sorta in between should have gone for the 20 million credits or buying Porsche. I’m guess with power park there will be credits to earn too and can keep using wtc 800 event too. Thanks all

So I've been getting a bit paranoid over my PS4's age, and specifically it's ability to keep a WiFi connection, so I've been staying out of online races until I get a PS5. Otherwise, however, there's still plenty I've been doing. For example, I did one of this week's challenges, the WRC Gr.B round at Colorado Springs since I hadn't tackled that one yet. Then, I did some laps for the online time trial featuring the Dodge Charger Hellcat @ Northern Isle, and it seems that much like every other event that permits the handbrake, I can't seem to break into silver range, but that's fine.

As for today and tomorrow - before Spec III drops on Thursday - I think I'll take on some more World Circuit events that I somehow haven't gotten to yet. Plus there's the other online time trial, featuring the Citroen GT by Citroen, and while we have about a week and a half before it expires, I think I'll be pretty busy with Spec III's content once it drops. As such, I might see how well I can do on that one before the update.

Not today but last night.

After 4 seasons of APRL I got my first win.

Last time we raced at High Speed Ring I had a terrible time, so was worried when I saw it on the calender.
