How about you?

Hey, that's awesome vicjohn! Very nice indeed. I've been toying around the idea of putting together a sim-chair for the untimate in driving-sim pleasure, but just can't seem to find the time.

Lookin' good man!!!

~Peace~

It's a problem - I have a decent size TV I picked up from a local repair shop propped up so it sits at eye level. Helps that it's on a desk big enough to land planes on.

I sit on the ground too.
My monitor is an old Commodore monitor, which is about as big as your average computer screen.

One speaker too. :(

My Digi Cam isnt handy but I have a beautiful 35" (still tube, none of that projector ****) Sony TV with 7 nuance surround sound speakers including subwoofer and 2 speakers behind me so I can hear which side that 787B is sneaking up on me from! The playstation has 5.1 dolby digital and was made for a system like this. and thousands of watts and a nice big leather couch. I dont have a racing wheel, but I would love one!

u rich people......sheesh....i just jump onto my 5 ft long couch and play in front of a 20'' screen... of course i could also just hook it up to my 36'' tv in the living room but of course people r usually playing super smash bros on it. (Melee SUX) lol

O and there's one problem with the room that has the 20'' TV in it. It's a really small room with barely any ventilation so it gets REALLY hot with the TV, computer, and PS2 on...I sweat just lying on the couch that's next to a window....

Wow where can I buy these from, do they import? :D

But me I currently use and inflatable chair  And refuse to get a wheel :spin: unless I can sit in a driving position, or what's the point?

ok vicjohn....what website did you snag these from? I'm interested in the first and second one...

Anybody know of anything else like this, stateside?

AO

I don't have a wheel yet because I don't know what brand to buy, so many glitches I heard on most of the steering wheels for both PC and consoles that makes me confused..

so I just wait for GT4 first to come out then buy an official GT4 wheel one, 'cos I'm sure they would be glitchfree :D

Well all I'd need is that little blue chair, looks cheap and gives exact position, then I can just get a nice little low table and a Logitech :D Sorted..

1 problem I checked that web site :computer: with the PC only expensive Hyper simulator... but you can't buy just the chair :banghead:, anyone know any other sites to try?

Well, here it is, the new 'office'.

Having just moved, we're getting organised, so it's still a bit of a disaster. My partner and I share the USS Nimitz sized desk (note how I'm shoved right over to the side, with her sewing crap dominating the left side of the desk).

Yes, they are - but the system doesn't take optical input (d'oh!) - it's a cheapie I managed to get hold of. You can see the subwoofer near the pedals in the shot of the desk (and that is fantastic!). I'm sniffing around trying to jury-rig a surround-sound set-up for it - I'll keep you posted.

The wheel works okay with TOCA, but after playing Colin McRae 2.0 on the PC I was expecting more - it's very light, and feedback is pretty weak. Occasionally you'll get this weird thing where you'll come out of a corner and the wheel seems to come out of alignment, so you'll have the wheel pointed 15 degrees to the right even though you're driving straight. :thatsodd:

That looks pretty intense. Props to all of the hardcore GT Fans who know how to really get into the game. I would love a setup like yours Vat_Man. Just maybe a little further from a bigger TV. I am really thinking about buying one of those wheels, too bad I didnt think of this when I was earlier into the game!

Would you say the wheel makes the game Harder or Easier?

The depth's a little misleading there - I'm actually a bit over a metre (3 feet) from the TV, so it's not that bad.

I personally have never played any of the GT series with anything except wheels - I'm a complete spaz with the DSII - so I'm probably not the best to comment. I know a few members here who converted to a GT Force after using the DSII were initially slower with the wheel, but how they've faired after that I'm not sure.

I played with the Speedster 2 wheel for a month or so before getting the GT Force, and the force-feedback really provides another dimension of realism to the game. It makes it a proper simulation.
