The main reason why I want a racing sim for the PC is that I have a fantastic Momo Racing wheel that I want to use. My mom bought it for me for Christmas last year so I could play GT3 with it, but it didn't work. Obviously, I was very dissapointed. It doesn't work with GT4 either (wish there was a way to make it work :grumpy: .)

I've been considering my options and I've read some reviews. Here they are (My impressions are based only on what I've read on the net. So if you disagree, feel free to say so.):

GTR: FIA GT Racing
Pros: Great AI, decent graphics, fantastic engine noises.
Cons: Requires lots of processing power, Not many options for cars or game modes.

TOCA Race Driver 2006 (Release date: February 1st 2006)
Pros: Even better AI than before, LOTS of choice just like before.
Cons: Not sure if it has any road cars, It won't be out for Christmas or my birthday 👎

Its really hard for me to decide which game I should buy. What do you think?
NOTE: I don't have broadband. And I won't have it anytime soon. So online
play is impossible.

GTR: FIA GT Racing is definately the most realistic.
It features most of the current or latest FIA GT cars.

Also conisder its sister, GT Legends which is more based around older cars like Corvettes, MGs, Escorts, etc.

BUT, be prepared to put a few hours into the game as it will definately take you a while to get control of the cars.
But its great, with a fantastic cockpit view, not mention racing scene. BTW, there's alot of options. You can change everything on a car from spoiler height, to tire pressure and etc.

Be also be prepared to have a good comp. to run it.

If you want the most realistic i highly recommend GTR.

If you want something that requires less processing power, less realism, but still lots of fun, and if you like street racing, go for Need For Speed: Underground 2. Lots of tunning possibilities, different race types (street, drag, drift), good sounds (even if not so good as GTR), career mode, photo sessions to put your ride in many magazines covers... :)

If you're unsure which one to get, nothing better than get some demos and try them yourself. ;)

Live For Speed!! best online racing. most realistic/complex physics. 👍

it runs much faster on my pc than GTR also 👍 and after getting LFS s2, i got bored with gtr.

GTR is the best theres tonnes of downloadable stuff for it too, I'm having loads of fun in the Ford Capri's .

LFS is very good too but imo not as good as GTR, I guess it depepnds on your taste of cars on offer, GTR as all real GT racers, LFS's are more road based but fictional models, they physics are spot on though.

Toca 2006 will not have any road cars, it's physics will probably not be as good as GTR's or LFS's but as a game it looks like it will be great fun with all the different types of racing andcups ect.

I recommend Nascar Racing 2003 Season :)

the best nascar racing simulation ever! It's a real bargain. You can run nascar with the latest updates of the Nascar series. Furthermore you can drive the Craftsman truck series, Trans Am series, GTP Mod, Bush Series.

And you'll have a lot of fun online especially you drive in a league. I've been in a league and it was fun!

So go buy NR 2003 Season the best online racing game you might get for 10€ ;)

I don't want a NASCAR sim, since I already have one on the PS2 and it works with my wheel. I definitely don't want a street tuner racing game. I will probably consider LFS though.

I will no longer be considering TOCA 2, since TOCA 2006 is coming out so soon. I have decided to get both GTR and TOCA 2006, but I'm more likely to buy TOCA rather than GTR.
