Okay, befor you start with the Initial D fanboi thing, yeah yeah I know, but on a serious note, why do you guys think Eurobeat in Drifting Videos is horrible, if you can actually find some good E-Beat I think it goes great with drifting...

Yeah, there's a lot of video that I made with eurobeat. Though some people just can't stand eurobeat like country music.

Here one of my favourite video I made with Eurobeat.

I guess it depend how you show it...

Well, I do watch Initial D, but if you listen to it when you actually drive, you might find yourself driving faster overall. happened to a couple of my friends who really didn't watch Initial D.

Its probably the beat that works for me. And its more Japanese than Led Zepplin or what not I feel... and more, well, flashy driving.

Though I do not feel Eurobeat goes well with Italian supercars and the likes... maybe some electronica of some sort would though.

I can't stand some of the metal/rock and hiphop I've found on some of the drift vids around here... I turn off the sound on them frequently...

I rarely find a driving/drifting/car video on the 'net that has good music, no matter what genre it is. :indiff:

Eurobeat is usually pretty tolerable, but many people seem to find the absolute worst songs possible and use those instead.

All I said was that I wasn't pointing you out........do you want me to?

Alright, fine, these are the ones with Eurobeat songs that I really don't like --

Honest comment help those who want to put eurobeat in their next video. 👍

Though some are on purpose. I know that Rac3rX hate a lot eurobeat.

not really being into "computerized" music or what ever... and being in2 alot of hardcore shizzle.... i dont know why but i seem to like some eurobeat when driving... i guess its the beat, being so fast and all, could give you a faster reaction time. Well thats why it feels like... anyway thats my 2 cents lol

That's more than one! JPWY

Music will always be a touchy subject no matter what kind it is. You will never find a song that will appeal to everyone. If you want to win the audience you have to do your research and see what floats and what sinks for the majority. Obviously many here don't care much for ID type music. On the other hand I'm sure there's a much more accepting community of it. The music alone does not make the video. A song people normally wouldn't listen to may become enjoyable if the video is matted to it in a enlightening fashion.

I think TRi hit on something key.

I'm on record several times voicing my distaste for eurobeat - partly because I just can't stand the sound of it, and partly due to Initial D. Due to the popularity of that anime I find using that form of music in a drift video to be just a little too cliche...

That said, if a good effort is made to match the pace of the music with the clips in the video and sync cuts/fades and effects to it, then I'll likely still enjoy the finished product. Too often though [and I do not mean to point fingers at anyone here, this is just a general statement], the drifts matched to eurobeat in this forum are slow and uninspiring - totally the opposite of what is necessary to use that music effectively, imo.

Music is and will always be a matter of personal taste.. I personally don't care much about the references (ID/Option/etc in the case of eurobeat or "cheesy" metal), I'll include music that I like and could listen to, and that I feel can give the vid a certain mood or pace...

A fitting reply to the OP could be: "Why do people like eurobeat?"... and no, I don't expect an answer ;)

Any attempt to describe in words why I can't stand a particular genre would surely backfire as many of the arguments could probably be used on music I like, so I'll keep it at "I just don't like it" for now :dopey:

Honestly, it's not just your taste of music that comes into play.
The music needs to fit, for example if you are watching a drift video with horrible music, then the drifting needs to be as horrible as well to make it fit:idea:

Nah just kidding, but music is there to create a feeling while watching a video. Tri did an astonishing job with his 80's video. Horrible songs IMO, but I really loved them while watching the video. One of the best GT4 drift vids I've seen:tup:
So you shouldn't pick songs by judging if you like them or not, but if they FIT with the video you're trying to make.

:)

though I really hate Initial D music, it's just sooo annoying. Want to make an annoying vid? Use InD:lol:

Racing is a fast-paced sport, and it needs fast-paced music to go with it. Yeah, that's about all I can think of. Oh, it has to be energetic too, but i guess fast songs cant lack energy, eh?

It's not racing we're talking about but you have a point about fast paced songs. They can really lack enegry compared to slower songs in some cases.
