It seems that whenever I do voice chat in a game, my router disconnects. It shows up as a network disconnect on the console, but attempts to immediately reconnect fail.. on ANY system in the house, so the problem is apparently the router.
I've got a Motorola Bluetooth something-or-other that I use on the PS3, and the standard wired headset on X360.
On the 360, it seems to happen only when I'm doing something else online in addition to the chat. For example, I chat regularly with a friend from work over X360, and if we're playing an offline game (i.e. Orange Box), then we can chat all day without a problem. But enter TDU and try to chat, and I've got maybe five minutes at the most before my connection will fail and I'm booted completely off of Live. This is using the dashboard voice chat and not the in-game chat. For some reason, in-game chat doesn't seem to affect it this way, as I was chatting yesterday with some blokes from over the pond for a good twenty minutes before I lagged out (but not logged out).
On the PS3, it seems I only get about two minutes of chat regardless of whether I'm in-game or at the XMB, then blammo.. disconnect. Another friend of mine at work has the same problem.. his connection is faster than mine, but his setup is all wireless.
Could it be a bandwidth issue, and the problem is coming from my ISP? I'm currently running on only 768K DSL, which I think is barely quick enough to game online. My friend from work said he saw me lagging like a mofo in TDU the other day. Now, that problem is going to go away in two days time when I switch over to 8MB cable.. I already have the equipment, I'm just waiting for them to activate it.
Any tips?
