Why can't you look around the car exterior?

This personally, is the BIGGEST issue in GT games. It is such a big game made by such a big company, played by millions, yet it doesn't have an absolutely essential feature for players who like to actually look at the car they are driving?

This is the winning factor for forza personally, I haven't even played forza but I wish they had it for ps3 because it seems much better that you can actually look around the vehicle you are driving. I wanted to get NFS shift 2 because of that but there isn't a big online playerbase for it.

Not being able to look around the car + horribleeeee damage features is gamebreaking.

just imagine how perfect this game would be if we could look around the exterior of the car and if the damage models were somewhat similar to grand theft auto iv or nfs shift/dirt series.

Because this cosmetic 'feature' is not a priority for Polyphony, simple as that.

If you think those two items are "Game breaking" then you're welcome to not buy the game/trade it in.

In my opinion, having the ability to look around the car is utterly pointless as I play GT5 for the driving experience - damage isn't something that particularly bothers me either but I'd rather simply not have it than the poor model both GT5 and Forza currently have.

I must say that Forza's mechanical damage (Downshifting too early damaging the transmission etc) would be a welcome addition however.

Because it's not in GT5 - done.

This forum isn't really here to start discussions about possible features for the next titles of the series.

To look around the car, use photo mode, not wholly ideal but it does allow you to see all around the car, bar underneath.

It would be a neat feature I'd use once to look around a car and probably never again. Same with damage. I didn't even know GT5 damage modelling was an issue until I began to read about it in the GT6 forum. I could care less about damage myself, but I understand how others would want it.

It's interesting sometimes to see what is important to different people. No you can't look *around* your car while you are driving it, but you can look at the front and the rear in 3rd-person view. I can only imagine a few scenarios where you might want to be able to look around the car while driving it. You can view your car in the garage, and you can get a very close look at premium cars in photomode, which is spectacular for pixelheads and voyeurs alike. Not sure if you're going to get a better look at virtual cars anwhere else.

The damage model in GT5 is generally considered poor, and you'll get no argument from me.

Even if you could look around while racing I wouldn't be able to. I am so used to the sensitivity of the x and [] buttons as well as L2/R2 for shifting that I never have time to use the right stick
