NFL Gameday 2001 - a PlayStation game posing as a PlayStation 2 game, and the sad thing is, it's not even close to being a decent Playsation 1 game.
Considering I played this game soon after the PS2 launch it was a total embarrasment to me when other people saw me playing this on the PS2.

Graphics
The graphics are horrendous. The game is basicly a Playstation 1 game packed on a PS2 disc. The football looks like one huge turd and sometimes you wonder if it is going to explode when they kick it. The player models were crap. The fans...the fans made noise, but when you look at them..guess what? They are faceless (literally) cardboard 2-D entities that vaguely resemble a human being sitting in their seats. They don't move or anything. They just sit there and magicly make cheering sounds. Kind of freaky if you looked at it for a while.
What I'm about to say happens with ANY difficulty mode.
My Final Score:
Gameplay: 0 - If you can't play a game properly why give it a 1? Should I give it a 1 simply because it exists? NO
Graphics: 1 - Graphics get a 1 because they at least added crappy looking effects like snow, steam coming out of player's mouths and rain
Sound: I don't remember this too well
Value: 0 - 0 value for a game that is unplayable
OVERALL: 0
A game that should have never been made. In reality, this game probably was half made and shipped out half done. That probalby explains why it is so terrible.
This one definitly belongs in the "Worst Games of All Time" Hall of Shame

What I'm about to say happens with ANY difficulty mode.
- Gameplay in NFL Gameday 2001 is so horrendous it's not even funny, or it was at first, until you realized changing the game difficulty wouldnt help.
- Animations are terrible. And that is the biggest understatment I could ever make. When you press square to tackle the player looks like gets shot of a cannon! Square literally shoots their bodies forward by about 10 feet. It's so bad... If you are on the defensive line all you have to do at the hike of the ball is press square to simply become a human cannon and shoot yourself through the offensive line into the quarterback. It's that easy.
- Passing Game is unstoppable. It doesnt matter what defense you call, the pathetic defensive AI cannot guard anything. They leave huge wholes in the secondary open
- Running Game is unstoppable. Running certain run plays over and over will give you a guaranteed 10 yards per run. This is possible because the AI of the defense is on par with that of a 12 month old. They don't react until about 3 seconds after they see you with the ball.
- Juke moves etc will make any defender miss no matter what angle or positioning
- Why is the defense even on the field?
- After catching a pass you can literally spend all day running around and outrunning the entire opposition.
- The reff can take the snap without saying hike
- You can cross the goal line and not get a touchdown
- The kicker can outrun the ENTIRE special defense team
- 99% of any kicks, extra points, punts, field goals etc can be blocked by simply rocketing your body through the line even on highest difficulty
- Opponents will sometimes run ten yards beyond the enemy player whose carrying the ball and when he does realize that he's carrying it, he'll warp ten yards to tackle your guy.
- No arrows to indicate where your guys are.
My Final Score:
