Would wood be cool as a paint chip?

Chrome isn't a paint it's a plating process. You can't just slap on a "coat of chrome". I think that's what he meant.

Chrome paint is real. Those chrome cars you see like the BMW on page 1 are sprayed on. You can even get chrome spray can from local hobby stop.

No one is going to remove all the fenders on a car and and plate every single one of them.

Add: That M3 on page 1 was painted by a product called Chrome It!

Real chrome (chromium, a metal) is bonded via electroplating.

Understand. 2 different process. I am not saying those cars are real chrome. I am saying chrome prints are real.

Interesting, didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I always figured it was a wrap of some sort, or actual chroming.

Still think it looks god-awful... :yuck:

Yep, I believe it's aluminum pigments suspended in paint and enamel. Not chrome at all, it's like saying carbon fiber wrap is carbon fiber.

Well, consider if you can get a can of Chrome Metallic Aerosol Spray Paint for $6 then it's probably not chromium.

Not to be OT. But I don't think wood paint is going to look good. I will find a good use to it if it's implemented.

By the way, the chrome M3 video I post is that exact M3 in the picture you posted. Follow the links on YouTube and you will find the Russian shop that did that and a lot of other crazy stuff.

I know, that's why I thought the CF vs CF wrap analogy was appropriate ;)

None of the cost, but none of the benefits

I seen several crazy "chrome'd" cars (gold and silver) but they're definitely not my cup of tea. Russians are definitely exceptional at crazy when it comes to cars (whale penis leather interior anyone?).

The CF warp especially. If anything, it's going to make the car heavier. :D

By the way, does the whale penis interior has a softer touch inland and only get stiff near the ocean?

I am thinking trolls would be a good paint chip!!!
