We've all had them - great moments in games. They are what makes games fun to play; they make us react differently; make us laugh, make us cry... they are your Top 10 gaming moments.

Here's mine (in no order and some slightly anecdotal):

1. D-Day landings level on Call Of Duty 2. Made me want to shout "MEDIIIC!!!!" Really indepth and involving. Great experience.
2. Whilst playing GTA:Vice City online with a friend we got engaged in a battle with some nutter with a machine gun. The 'nutter' took me out and continued to battle with my friend. I spawned down the road, outside the policestation, jumped into a police car and sped down the road siren blaring. Approached the two still in battle, did a handbrake turn between them, my mate jumped in and we sped off again. The comment from the 'nutter' was priceless "You *******!".
3. When i played Half Life 2 for the first time i was totally stunned. "My god i can actually pick that up! Haha lets see if i can throw this coke can at that guard... Oh..." The whole HL2 physics engine made for a very memorable game. In fact thinking about it, so much stuff from that game should be in this list, like being able to throw stuff with the gravity gun like the saw blades and the harpoon etc. etc. etc. I could go on about this game forever.
4. Playing Grand Theft Auto 3 for the first time "It's GTA in 3D!!"
5. Playing Gran Turismo 3 for the first time. Me and my brother played GT3 for 16 hours a day for a week. Great memory, so much fun. We played so much over that period that the steering wheel i bought at the beginning of the week was broke by the end!
6. Playing Civilisation (the first one) for the first time was just the best. Great game, way ahead of it's time.
7. Mario Kart on the SNES was just too much fun in Battlemode. I've spent many hours playing that over the years.
8. Realising that you can control the the ducks in Duck Hunt with the P2 controller! Oh the fun to be had.
9. Pretty much anytime i go online and play Battlefield i encounter great gaming moments. Such as in BF:V i remember driving around on the scooter being chased by a tank. My housemate was on the same server and could hear the 'toots' from my scooter and couldn't stop laughing.
9b. BF2: Was a medic on a roof with other members of my squad. One member got shot and fell off. I jumped off the roof (one of those massively tall buildings), pulled the shoot and landed on top of him. Pulled out the difribs and brought him back from near dead. Just love to think how that must've looked for him.
10. I still feel chuffed to this day for getting All Golds on Mario Kart 64. Pretty much the only game i've properly completed :indiff:

So. Your turn.

1: The first Gran Turismo, how many cars there were, the graphics, oh my it was heaven!:D
2: On the SNES, the original star wars games, getting to the end of Return of the Jedi and completeing it, considering you couldnt save during play i considered this a great achievement.
3: Half Life 2, as Donbenni said, the physics are just brill, plowing the hoverboat thing into a wooden bridge and loooking back to see it collapse is just so awsome:D
3b: HL2: Lost coast, seeing what they could be capable of doing, the HDR is great.
4: Medal of Honour frontline, the first time i played the beach landing was awsome:D I will never forget that.
5: Winning the master GP on Race driver 2 made me feel great:D it had taken ages to get there and it was worth the slavery.
6: Getting 100% on GT4 was a crowning achievment.
6b: so was GT3
6c: and GT2
6d: and GT1 of course...
7: The first F1 game i played, F1 98, i remember people saying it was bad but i loved it, it was great! Fond memories of that game.
8: Completing Abes Exodus and Oddysey is quite high up there, absolute classics.
9: Playing a whole 2 player championship of V Rally 1 on ps1 with my dad, took all day and it was awsome, he had the Repsol Escort and i took the Impreza and he beat me:/
10: *Reserved* For TOCA Race Driver 3!:D

no specific order:

1) Omaha Beach, Medal of Honor Allied Assault. - I mean HOLY COW!! The scale of it I couldn't believe and the landing craft ride introduction was excellant, and then the mission. Yeah I got blown up several times on the level, but each time it is a joy to play.

2) Stalingrad, Call of Duty 1. - Another brilliant level, where you start with just an ammo clip, and have to pick up a weapon from a dead comrade. Chicken out and your own officers shoot you.

3) Pointe du Hoc, Call of Duty 2. - Cliff level, cool landing sequence and climbing parts, then on the top of the cliff it get trickier.

4) Online play, Medal of Honor AA - This was the first time I'd ever played a game online and I LOVED IT! So much fun sneaking around pwning REAL people.

6) Worms 2, - Damn addictive for a quick play when nothing better to do.

8) Gotta be when I found the FHM posters in the toilets on MGS2. That was a brilliant touch.

9) Playing GP500 for the first time, - This was my first racing motorcycle game, apart from Motocross Madness and it was so much fun, wheelies and front wheelies were real good.

10) Unreal Tournment greatness, - Each of the Unreal Tournie games I have loved, as each one has introduced something new to the series. UT2004 saw the introduction of vehicles... lookin forward to UT2007.

In no specific order.
1. Finding out how to build hybrids in Gran Turismo 3
2. Half life 2 just like you described. The physics were just incredible and who doesnt love the Graviton gun or playing catch with DOG.
3. Getting far enough in GTA Vice City to be able to fly the helicopter for the first time. That was such an exciting moment. I bet I flew around for hours upon hours after I unlocked it.

7. The first time I had a lan party with my brother and girlfriend. We were all online in Destruction Derby Arenas and then Medal of honor all weekend long. Good times!!
8. The first time I saw the GT4 intro movie blasting thru my surround sound and realized I finally was able to play the game after a year delay!
9. ::This exiting moment was before I had internet:: The first time I hooked 4 playstation 2 systems together in the same room and played Timesplitters 2, GT3, and ATV Off road Fury 2 all on 4 differnt TVS. Good times!!
10. The first time my girlfriend and I played Halo 2 online together on our own xbox systems.

7) GTA VC and SA - Brilliant additions to the GTA franchise, and keep getting better and better. Flying the airliner in SA is insane and the wide array of stuff to do means fun for hours. Anyone for base jumping??

👍 Flying the jets through the pretty realistic looking clouds was awesome. And hell yes with the base jumping!!! My god i've spent hours taking a BMX to the top of the round skyscraper and just hopping off it, ditching the bike and swan diving towards the ground :D

Gabkicks
8.) Drifting in varous games. Ridge racer, gran turismo. and ultimately the battles in LFS.

Oh yes, learning to drift in a low powered Trueno in GT3 was a great experience. Best GT starting car ever? I think so.

b) First days (and weeks) having GT3
c) First days of GT4
d) First game of GT3 after getting my DF wheel.
e) Finally getting that damn RGT Time Trial on Complex String.

- First online races with Live For Speed S2.

- First game of Super Mario Brothers on the NES
b) Fist game of SMB3 on the NES
c) First game of SMW on the SNES, japanese version way before its release
d) Completing SMW in an afternoon.

- Discovering Super Mario Kart on the SNES
b) Discovering SMK64 on the N64

- First game of Final Fantasy I on the NES
b) First games of FFII and FFIII on the SNES

- First LAN parties, playing Warcraft II, Starcraft, AoE, Quake I and Death Rally on a coax cable network... :P

- Running covert operations to go unnoticed to the convenience store in order to play on the Bubble Bobble and Wonder Boy arcade machines when I was 8-9 years old.

I know, that's way over 10 :indiff:

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the appearance of the T-rex in the original Tomb Raider.

You kill a couple a couple of veloceraptors, and just when you're hoping that there's not too many of them, the ground starts shaking and a massive T-rex appears and eats you.

I'll take that as you're either making fun of us and this thread or sadly you're actually the only one that has played Tomb raider. I like the later one.

1. Having a score of 37-1 in 1 game in a match of CAL-M on 1.6. I have never seen anyone come close.
2. Getting into CAL-M
3. The release of Half-Life 2 ( i was like AHH!!! the best FPS game ever has finally arrived.) Play 7 straight hours until finally beating it on hard. :)
4. F.E.A.R. i pre-ordered it off of EBgames.com and i got it the day it came out, but BEFORE the hours it was re-lease in stores.
5. Ravenholm
6. The very first NFS HP game for PC i got and loved it.
7. Playing Megarace when i was a lil kid.
8. The very first C&C i was at a friends house when i played it and there 2 coms were hooked to eachother so we could palying against eachother
9. Counter-Strike 1.6, and BF 1942 LAN party when i was in the 7th grade.
10. Using the shotgun as a sniper behind a enemy spawn point (that couldn't be captured) at the LAN party and when POP! everytime i took a shot. We eventually go boared and went on a frenzy and killed everyone we saw, even team mates. Then we played his cousins.

1) Call of Duty 2 - Point Du hoc - No other game can beat the COD games for pure immersion, an amazing experience, and Point Du Hoc is COD2's crowning glory

2)At a Unreal Tournament LAN party, winning the ONS comp and scoreing a pair of kcik arse headphones, the teams where picked by 8 captains, i wasnt too well known in the community at the time, so i was probably a no.4-6 pick (out of teams of 6), my captain was probably the best ONS player there. The team was reasonably good, but probably not the best, I ended up being 2nd highest score in most games, and top in one or two. Excellent team work, got us the victory. I team then voted between us who was the best on the team, my captain won the vote, 4-2 over me (and yes i voted for him), he got a even better paitr of headphones, that included a mic.. Not only winning, but the whole 3 day lan was a kcik artse experience, knid of felt bad for some of my mates, as the teams they where on didnt do quite as well, one got to the semis, but we all definately had fun & met new people

3) GT4 - Hotlapping the nurburgring nordschlieffe. Simply stunning, no matter what car you are driving, its a kick arse drive

4) Unreal Tournament Series - Got me into online gaming, it may be a mroe spammy game, but the skill comes from learning to dodge, especially in ut2k4 with a plethora of trick jumps. utk4 CTF is one of the best online gaming experiences, especially playing in a competition in a clan with all my mates, as well as gonig to 2 massive LAN parties in melbourne

5) Call of Duty - Stalingrad - Once again very immersive. Running up the steep banks to the city, with no weapon, and german mg42's wasting 1000's of russians

6) Call of Duty online - using a sniper rifle, a jeep blasts by me, fully manned, aim for the gunner, fire, somehow, quite unexpectedly, due to my shot, the entire jeeb blows up, and i get 3 kills. "WTF! well, i'll take that'

7) BF2 online - playing with an experienced squad of players, working as a perfect team on an almost full 64 player server, the online experience of BF2 is like very few others

8) Call of Duty online - owning spamming noobs with a bolt action. And sneaking up behind and hitting tanks in the rear with panzershrek or bazooka, destroying them one hit, and the noobs react "OMFG, YOU FAGGOT HACKER, GO GET A ****ING LIFE FAGGOT, IM TELLING THE ADMINS!"

9) Half Life 2 - Final Level - Over powered gravity gun, absolute pissa. Psycho bad guy on big screen "you dont knowq what you are throwing away!". so i luanched a dead henchman at the screen and left a big splatter of blood on his forehead. Also, i couldnt help but imagining the guards going "Oh no, hes got Lenny!" "Not Lenny!" when youve picked up a henchmen with the gravity gun

10) GTA San Andreas - The shear expansiveness of the game, is mindblowing, i though id done most of what there was to do in the game, was flipping through a game guide at EB, was like, OMG, what is all this??? Bought the guide, went back home, palyed for about another month, nothing but online games usually keep me playing for that long, thats how good it is. Only GT4's amount of cars and tracks can stack up to GTA:SA

sorry, i cant think of 10 but my all time greatest gaming moment was with a friend on a trip to sydney when i was 16.

half drunk at a timezone or the equivelent, i was playing silent scope and was up to the last level (i think). i was in a helecopter hovering above a football field.
i think the presidents daughter had been kiddnapped or something and a bad guy was running across the field with her over his shoulder.
anyway, the helecopter was bouncing up and down, vibrating and turning around to follow the bad guy and i, whilst half pissed, shot him in the head with my first shot just as the timer was running out (i think).
best part was my mate seen me do it and thought i was a hero.

if this is the easiest game ever please dont rip me off, i was drunk and it makes me feel good to think i did something spectacular.

in GT4 when i get a stock (oil change and S2's) 330i under 8 minutes around the Nurburgring with my G25 that will make the top 10. got it down to 8,01.850
