Despite last week’s unfortunate leak, Forza Horizon 3 continues as normal with it’s car reveals on the run up to release. This week, Road and Track have unveiled 14 of the cars that will take their place in the car roster — and in particular 3 beauties which are sure to make your car senses tingle.

First up, we have the exquisite Ferrari 166MM Barchetta (shown above). Ferrari’s maiden winner of the 1949 24 Hours of Le Mans will feature in the Horizon festival, bringing with it all 140BHP and a V12 engine. The design of this Italian stallion may be striking but no longer unique, as AC’s Cobra bears a striking resemblance to it in many ways than one. We look forward to seeing this car decked out in the Cobra’s iconic stripes — a perfect cross-continental marriage of Motorsport history.

Up next, we have another Italian beast from the same decade:

The 1953 Maserati A6GCS/53 Pininfarina Berlinetta proved to be ‘style over substance’, not making much of an impact on the Motorsport world. With that being said, when a car looks this good it can be forgiven. Although a real model of the car sold for 3.5 million dollars in 1996, you’ll be able to try this out on the Australian Outback for much, much less.

It isn’t just Italy that’s getting some retro love from Playground Games, the UK will also see some representation from the 60s:

Bringing a 3.8 litre straight-6 British engine, the 1969 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 will offer premium looks and speed in Forza Horizon 3. In it’s heyday, the Jag primarily tore up Touring Car competitions however the Horizon festival will definitely be a suitable environment for this brute.

The 11 other vehicles unfortunately don’t yet have renders, however the list below points out some more confirmed cars to expect when the title releases:

  • 1980 Abarth Fiat 131
  • 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe
  • 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export
  • 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
  • 1985 Ford RS200 Evolution
  • 1977 Ford Escort RS1800
  • 1966 Ford Lotus Cortina
  • 2015 Infiniti Q60 Concept
  • 2015 Lexus RC F
  • 1997 McLaren F1 GT
  • 1958 Plymouth Fury

As with any Forza game, the car list is shaping up to be as varied and cross-era as possible. There aren’t many games in the modern genre that would offer the McLaren F1 GT, Escort RS1800 and Q60 Concept to have some off-road fun.

Forza Horizon 3 launches on September 27th 2016 on Xbox One and PC. Head over to our dedicated forum section to discuss the game in greater detail.

The car list in FH3 is amazing, I’ll be getting the game just to tour around an open world in so many amazing cars!

Really hope they resolve the wheel support issue on the PC

Not to worry Mr.letdown… Turn10 have been VERY clear that wheel support on PC will be available day one. Remember… Forza Motorsport Apex is simply a demo on PC. A proof of concept that there will be an appetite for Forza among PC gamers. Turn10 now knows very well that the PC market is hungry for a title like Forza and they will deliver. Big time!

Great to see the Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 litre listed for a car game, but I doubt that it is a 1969 model – the Mark 2 was in production from 1959 to 1967. The year to pick – the one with the most historic significance would be 1963 as that year it won the inaugural European Touring Car Championship, the Australian Touring Car Championship and the Brands Hatch Six Hours. Its replacement the XJ6 4.2 was released in 1968.
Great cars on the Forza list – it looks like they are raiding the Gran Turismo suggestions thread on GTPlanet and picking the best cars!

The cars that Forza is adding to their roster (FM6 / FH3) is fantastic. It offers more variety than any other racing game out there. Consider me a bit jealous ;)

It’s called letting your customers pay twice for development. First you pay for a DLC for content to be added to the current game (FH6). Then when you buy the new game (FH3) it will have this new content again as well.

Just go through all Turn 10 DLC history since they released FM5 and you will see the trend.
DLC for FM5 => lots of cars added to base game of FH2
DLC for FH2 => lots of cars added to base game of FM6
DLC for FM6 => lots of cars added to base game of FH3

So here is my magic ball prediction for the future: If there are good cars in DLCs for FH3 that you would like to have but not pay for them as DLC just wait and buy FM7. You can bet there is a really high chance most of those cars will be in the FM7 base game.

Aah, the circle of Micro$oft life.

@breyzipp – I’m really not sure why you’re presenting this as a situation unique to Microsoft (though, given the whole “M$” thing, I can probably guess why). Paid DLC in one game being included in the subsequent game is just common sense. GT5 did it with a bunch of cars that would go on to appear in GT6. I wouldn’t be surprised if PCARS does the same thing for the sequel.

My phone changed “breyzipp” to “very cheap”. That made me chuckle, but not as much as someone complaining that T10 added previous dlc to their next game as base content.

For a moment I thought I was on Pornhub. This article could’ve used a NSFW tag for that Maserati alone!
