Nissan GT-R LM Coming to Gran Turismo 6 on June 2nd

Nissan’s radical Le Mans challenger, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, is coming to Gran Turismo 6 in just a few short weeks, when the final round of the GT Academy 2015 online qualifier kicks off on June 2, 2015, at 07:00 GMT/UTC.

The news was announced by GT Academy’s managing director Laurence Wiltshire during an interview with 612 ABC Radio in Brisbane, Australia, as he was explaining what’s in store for the competition’s final round. The full interview can be heard below (skip to 13:30 for the remarks about the GT-R LM):

Although this is the first official confirmation that we’ve had that the car will be used in the final round of GT Academy 2015, it’s not a huge surprise. Many suspected it would be featured in the game since Nissan’s Global Motorsport Director Darren Cox mentioned the car would be coming to the virtual world back in January.

Another new Nissan, the Greaves Motorsport LMP2 open-cockpit race car, was just launched in GT6 yesterday with the opening of GT Academy 2015’s third online qualification round, hosted at Spa Francorchamps. Of course, the track which will host the fourth round and the GT-R LM remains a closely guarded mystery.

As always, be sure to visit our GT Academy forum for more analysis and discussion with other hopeful competitors around the world. Thanks to GTPlanet member merv_xiii for digging this up!

Get the favorites list updated IMMEDIATELY!! I’m running out of room to add even more cars to the favorites roster, increase the capacity by DOUBLE!! And quick!! Before it’s too late!! It’s for arcade mode, please!! I want to have a bigger selection of cars to choose instead of just 100 cars in the favorites roster and with 20 cars in the courtesy roster.

Well this is another great exciting new LMP1 class car coming to GT6, but you still forgot one major adjustment for the game.

The LMP1/2’s in Project Cars are beasts.
I only hope that we will be able to adjust GT7 so it will be as immersive & challenging as Pcars.
I so want Polyphony to be top dog again.

I’d love to see Yas Marina in GT6 but what if the track was a new track in real life and in GT6? Yeah…. NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green Kentucky… Where the GT-R LM has been testing the last few weeks. Pretty awesome looking track!

It is but I did some laps in the new LMP 2 in GT6, and I seriously wish pCars had FFB like that. I would be in heaven if pCars had AC’s, or even GT6’s FFB. pCars FFB isn’t bad if you use Jack Spear’s settings but it’s still way behind AC, LFs or GT6. On default settings it’s pretty much terrible

I find the PCars FFB best of all at this point, even better than AC which I absolutely adore. PCars feels a little more natural, to the point where I can zone out and just drive, responding to the FFB without thinking, purely on intuition and responding to FFB cues. It’s a different approach and requires some time spent figuring out how to set up your cars, but being able to dial each car’s own FFB individually is fantastic. You can easily feel the difference tuning adjustments make to the FFB as well since the FFB is based on feedback from the steering rack for the most part.

Most likely the FWD version, since that’s what they will be racing this year. Next year they will go to the AWD system.

    2. racezilla

@Red_Bull_Pro the real car is provided with an hybrid FWD / AWD System, it’s up to PD to reproduce the car virtually as precisely as they can

    3. Red_Bull_Pro

Wait, just look at specs. I think you are referring to 2016??? The specs say it will be all FWD, but I heard somewhere they will go to the AWD system next year.

Every day i come to this site hoping to see some news about the course maker :( lol.. i want that gps maker so bad we’ll probably get it in gt7

    1. TomBrady

GT6 is still mind blowing to me. God I missed that sweet FFB this sim has. pCars is great but I wish it had FFB like this

  6. gtfanforlife

This is great news, but we don’t have any other LMP1’s at that level… I assume it is faster than the TSO30 and R18…

  7. viperlemondemon

The track is a close guarded secret, come on anyone with a functioning brain can tell you it will probably be Le Mans. You have a brand new LMP1 car and the last rounds starts. Start brushing up on your circuit de la Sarthe people. Oh one more thing I would rather see Sebring international then Yas Marina any day

    1. TomBrady

I wouldn’t. I’d rather see VIR than any other American track but Yas Marina is an amazing track. Better layout than Sebring and scenery in my opinion. Sebring would be cool as long as PD isn’t half assed with it (like not having a full 24 hour day to night cycle on it. Same with Yas Marina. You can’t have Sebring without the ability to do a 24 hour race.)

  8. galaia2004

I was wondering whether Yas Marina might be added as a new track. It seemed odd that Race Camp was at a track not currently in the game. Would also add an additional track for future FIA competitions.

  9. dylanlikes88

So no info on the track huh? Bummer. After all the posts I’ve read that there is a possibility that the final round will include Yas Marina Circuit in the update, I was hoping for some info on that… Oh well. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see…

    1. TomBrady

Actually, an inside source has confirmed that it’s gonna be Rainbow Road from Mario KArt 64.

Kidding. It’s probably gonna be Le Mans. I hope it’s Yas Marina but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Le Mans instead.
