Nissan Prepares for the Kessel Run with the Millennium Falcon Rogue

Back in December, Nissan showed off its Star Wars themed vehicles. Now to celebrate the upcoming release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, it’s adding another vehicle to the fleet.

As you’d expect, it’s none other than the Millenium Falcon.

To help bring the Falcon Rogue to life, Nissan designers worked closely with Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic. Once the plans were finalized, Nissan turned the build process over to Vehicle Effects in Burbank, CA.

Making use of 3D printed parts, the Rogue gets the Falcon treatment both inside and out.

The exterior features many of the elements of the iconic spaceship, including a laser cannon and radar dish. Arguably the best addition is the windshield. Crafted to look like the cockpit of the Falcon, it pulls the look together.

Out back the faux engines further add to the overall look. Covering the rear hatch is a model of the Griodyne sublight engines. To further add to the effect it also glows blue when the vehicle is on.

The coolest piece is the Isu-Sim hyperdrive. Replacing the rear windshield is a trio of 18-inch subwoofer pumping out 1,500-watts. While they won’t make 0.5 past lightspeed, they’ll definitely sound like they are.

Unfortunately, the Rogue still carries the same 170hp 2.5-liter under the hood. Guess that means you can’t make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

On the inside, the front seats get a wide array of toggles and switches. It also gets seats similar to the ones on the Falcon and a hyperdrive panel.

Finally to top it all off a set of gold dice hang from the rearview mirror. For those familiar with Star Wars lore, you’ll know instantly what these are. However, for those who don’t they were used by Han Solo to win the Falcon from Lando Calrissian in a game of sabacc.

As with the other vehicles in the Star Wars fleet, the Falcon Rogue is not for sale.

To catch the “real” Millennium Falcon in action, you can check out Solo: A Star Wars Story opening Friday, May 25.
