OK, how long until it blows up and you find all the mods were Japan only parts meaning you pay an arm and a leg to get them imported.:sly:

wot ... yous... dun ... no ... wot ... wot ... wen

please post your opinions, no matter what they might be lol

Opinion:

GTPlanet Acceptable Use Policy
No slang words that promote laziness, ie; “r”, “u”, “plz”, etc. will be tolerated. Decent grammar is expected, including proper usage of capital letters. Repeated violations will be grounds for suspension and/or permanent removal from the forums.

It can't be that hard to type "ha" instead of "o"? Surely?

In my Opinion very nice looking car. I would recommend a small fin for the back trunk.

Whats the mileage?

Looks clean but I think you need to wash the car a little more. :p Either that or you really have a crappy camera.....

Nice car , used to have a sw20 MR2 US Turbo a few years back but needed to sell it.
Only thing missing is a rear spoiler and glass roof the rest looks fine ;)

This is how my car looked like

Never been much of a fan of the Mk2 MR-2 - but i'm amazed at how much better it looks without the rear spoiler 👍

My opinion is that they look better with the spoiler. Hit or miss thing eh?

There's a first-gen Impreza STi near where i live that has had the rear wing taken off. I think it looks great. But this, like godzilla_GTR's MR-2 above, is possibly because you expect to see them with wings and when they don't have them they just look different and maybe a bit fresher.

Looks much better sans the rear spoiler, much cleaner. I'm a bit iffy on the sleepy eyes though, it's sort of one of those things you need to see in person I suppose to decided whether you like them or not.

I'm uncertain of that, mainly because I tend to think of the Supra-style spoiler like whats on my car as the standard for the MR2, Celica and obviously the Supra. Either way, it looks very good, and I imagine its a lot of fun to drive. Problem is, I'm just not a big MR2 fan.

IMO the rear look too empty and "normal family sedan-like" without at least a factory spoiler. Kind of how an RX-7 just looks like a round blob without a spoiler to set it off.

I'm not sure if I like the lack of a spoiler or not. It's interesting and you don't see it very often. It looks good, but it doesn't look "like an MR2" without it. Besides that, I like the single exhaust and I like the fairly tasteful side skirts and of course the front lip. The wheels could use more imagination. Seems like MR2 people in general have a really crappy taste in performance wheels. Hopefully you can change that with some proper race-like Volks or Works or Enkeis or whatever.

Well, I rather like the wheel design but you can tell by looking at them they're heavy as hell...

Issue with proper flyweight wheels is that they ain't cheap... At all.

Pretty cool man, I gotta say that 90% of cars look better despoilered, keep the spoiler off 👍

Are you going to put it on a dyno? Chuck up a post with some figures once you've done some power runs.

Absoutly Beautiful car GTR! Great buy! It looks fast, is fast, and is clean! I'm impressed, and am loving it!

I like it. I've always liked MR-2's and I think the SW20 has a timeless design. Maybe a little black carbon lip spoiler on the bootlid would set it off.

okay, Gojira, you were told. no text speak, here.

100k miles. oh boy, that's gonna fall apart soon, mods or no.

Maybe not, my Ute's done 189 000km now and she's rock solid. There are lots of high mileage modified cars kicking around that are still doing alright.

Turbo charged vehicles are another story though. Sure you can drive a vehicle off the boost for a long while but that turbo is a wild card. I'm not saying it will for sure blow up but there is a greater chance of it happening.

not necessarily the parts YOUR thinking of. I've gone through two built-in-japan Toyotas, and the both suffer from severe Wire Rot. btw, I think I'm pushing 400,000 km on my poor 4Runner (I rolled over 320k on it's second anniversary with me)

400,000? Hardly. Try 515,000!

👍

How many of those cars, especially the heavily modified ones, are still using original components though?

Look at how many stupid hoons we have in our countries. I'm guessing many have bolt on power upgrades and not much else.

ferarri_Chris: for an american market vehicle, that's amazing. usually, the've been so saturated with anti-skid material, winter road salt, and giant piles of KM between areas.

US made cars generally peter out at 160k engine wise, then the frame at 320. (KM) i should know, the LOWEST miles I've had on one of my vhicles at purchase was around 140k
