mmm got into 10s in my nitrous powered subaru, but not worth mentioning since its a 10.8 run vs you freaks that ran low 10's.

BTW my Evo IV has run a 11.94 after a bit of LSD, gear ratio and suspension fiddling. Yay! First car not running nitrous to be in the 11s.
I've run a 11.94 in my Evo, the 12.080 was my first time. And also my CRX didn't have nitrous so it should go in the no N2O category.

Finally hit the 10's, but here's what I had previously........

bindidot
Not quite the quickest, but right up there and possibly room for improvement.

'94 Subaru WRX
352 HP
1156 kg
38,741.4 miles

'94 Sub WRX........9,722
stage 2 turbo.....13,500
NOS......................5,000
1st weight red. ....1,200
oil change..................50

total spend 29,472

Car ran 11.293 1/4 mile.

As for the gears, the PS2 is off now so going on memory, but didnt do much other from the auto setting and the auto settings are at what I THINK was 11, but can check later if verification is needed.
Now this will sound stupid, ummmmmm because it is.....I totally overlooked setting my NOS to 100 on that run. Now I have it set at 100 and I still have my transmission settings at auto-set 11 but have now adjusted 1st gear to 3.00:1 so now my time stands at......10.791

I have alot of work to beat or tie that low 10 of Taneras and I likely can't do it, but I shall try and I will see what I can do without taking the easy way out and copying his recipe. Good work Taneras.

What's with all the rice rockets? Why not some muscle car action?

$16547 - 1967 Mercury Cougar (51738.5 miles)
$12000 - Stage 2 N/A
$1100 - Stage 1 Lightening
$50 - Oil Change
TOTAL $29,697

Power: 505hp
Torque: 654ft/lb
weight: 1290kg
ratio: 2.553

1/4 Mile = 12.043 (FR and without NOS)

(I've never installed NOS on any car, RL or VR. And I'm not about to start)

This car has a huge power band and slow shifting, so the trick is to finish in 3rd gear only shifting twice (ie. wiiiide gears). Raise the ride height to max and put 200kg over the rear axle.

Hmmm......might wanna correct that list, as I didn't use NOS for my FF time.

Looks like a good list though.

im at the used car lot looking at a 1994 imprezza sedan wrx sti with less mileage... 37351.8 for 13,890C ........
Thats why, yours has less milage. The one I bought has over 10,000 more miles on it, thats why its cheaper.

Look at bindidot on post 86. He has the same car I do, its a 94 impreza sedan wrx sti for 9722.

cobra427
the powerband isnt too great i modded my car same as yours but it came too 33k and best i can get is 10.366 with alot of tuning and the car struggles to take off in 2nd
If the powerband sucks on it why are you running 10's? And if its struggling in 2nd, you need to adjust your tranny, suspension, and limited slip. Mine would drop down to 2,500rpm (I think it was around there) and soar upwards after that.

Thanks, the only difference is your stage 2. I traded a stage 2 turbo for a stage 1, racing flywheel, twin plate clutch, sports exhaust, racing chip, and sports intercooler. Do that and you'll be hitting 10.3's, and with some setting changes you should be down to around my time

To the people questioning how much someone bought a particular car for, the car lot changes on a regular basis (like every 5 days or so). Sometimes you can find a really cheap, powerful car in the lots, such as the STI's for under $10k.

IIRC, the lot repeats itself every 700 days, with the black cars coming in at 694 days.

And no, the black cars can't be bought for less than $30k.

Well since Volred started this thread maybe he will do it. I'll give him a PM now to ask him.
Yup, I'll organize a list.

I think I will do one within my original post, and then I will do one in HTML where it is prettier.

Oh for sure, I could do just as you did, but there's no originality in that and would only serve to undermine the credit you rightly deserve for coming up with the best combo first. I'll still keep trying different combo's to see what happens, but yours is one tough act to follow, again kudo's Taneras....well done

Yea sorry guys, I was messing around with so many cars its a wonder I just messed up on that. I changed it to FF. My next project will be an FR car. I'll get one going sometime tomorrow. I had gotten one down to 11.8xx, but I didn't post it since it didn't beat the current leader.

Oh and Cobra, I am a HUGE ford fan. I will get my SHO beating your FTO without the bottle soon. Just give me a little time Nice times though, that was gonna be my first FF car to try out. Its not bad for the price, and looks wicked. But you beat me to it so I had to try out the ol' American muscle

Oh yea and grats on the new best FR time.
