woooah, relax there lol. It's probably going got take a few times before it works. I have the JPN version, and trying to download that patch from over here in the US wasn't fun, and it took probably at least 7 times before it finally went through. It's probably the amount of people trying to get the update at the same time. Patience my friends
The japanese version took me a zillion times (i.e. a few dozen) to download the update, with the EU version I got it after 5 or 6 retries. So keep up the spirit and be patient, the reward will be great.
From what I understand when the update fails follow the following steps
1) go to the news area on the main menu
2) press the PS button on the controller
3) exit the game with the PS button
4) restart the game and the update will continue from where it stopped
So if you exit the game when in the news area it saves the downloaded update and continues where it left off. Try this and let us know if this works.
hey, i had the same problem downloading the update, it turned out to be the wireless, when i put inn the cabel (lan) it worked first time around, and went a heck of a lot quicker to.

Well, in my game it says that I have to go to definitions and update the PS3 and then it appears the Update 2.20, so I don't know, but I can't register in PSNetwork. So I think I just have to do this update...
Do any of you have problem with online play? My game has locked-up at least 10 times the last couple of hours. The game gets stuck on this black screen, with the silver GT logo(right before you get the list of other players in the race), the only thing I can do is terminate the game with the PS button on the controller.
I was thinking it might have something to do with the servers getting overloaded. Or maybe my PS3 is just too hot from playing GT5 all afternoon+evening.
I'm on my 5th go right now. I turned off all my other PC's (not doing anything before, but hey!) and it's upto the OK button ATM, though it has stopped everytime about halfway along. Fingers crossed LOL.
Edit - Nah stopped at the same spot again.
Edit 2 - GOt to 3/4 this time befor it stopped. Tried again straight away and only go to 1/4 the way through before the ERROR came up. Tried 9th time VOILA done. Off to racing i go, have fun people.

The update seems to continue from where it left off anyway. The problem is that it keeps disconnecting. The download was only going for a few minutes max when mine finally succeeded. There is zero chance I download 400meg in that time.
