K, cant wait to see a stock 95 Civic beat a Veyron...or even a stock R35 as mentioned in the first reply.

This Mustang runs 8s in the 1/4 mile...and is always driven to the track, not trailered. Full interior, radio, etc, and all stuffed under the stock hood. Doesn't even put lighter wheels on it...keeps the 17s on there.

That stang would definitely not be my choice for a cornering contest since the suspension is set up for drag racing, though there are some very nice handling American cars, so lets not fall into that stereotype.

That reply was directed at IsmokeGT, not you. Sorry for the confusion. He said we were only talking about stock production cars, and I said we werent because of posts such as yours, and quoted it.
 
Ill settle it, lets go on GT5p and race whatever you want in any Expert race...
Preferably F2007.
 
I would if I had the NA version of GT5P. I'm still rockin the JPN edition that I imported. Besides, that's a really bad fight to pick...I'm not the typical console racer

DAMN! I wish there was a spectator mode in GT5P because I would love to watch you guys race! Hopefully it'll be included in the final GT5 via GT:TV. Kind of like Gotham TV in PGR.
 
Well just in case he really does want to race...I'll be randomly selecting expert events hoping to find him. Not gonna hold my breath.

The F2007 is very fast but I don't think it'll be much fun. You guys should pick a production car and race against each other with it. I suggest running a stock Corvette ZO6 with no assists.:D
 
Apparently he just wants to say i can choose and still run his own race. fine, ill race against him with my least fav car in the game.

Ha, guess the idiot didnt wanna let me choose the race after all. I tried racing him at his race only to find out that the game still defaults to the H gate shifter even for the F2007. No 7th gear + holding the wheel with 1 hand while the game shakes the wheel wildly down the straightaways = fail. I haven't played the game since I got my G25 back in May....heck, I dont even think I've booted up GT5P in 6 months haha. I really should get it calibrated....but PC sims are much more worth the time.

SmokeGT: Get back to me when you wanna race in a real sim.
 
What wheel are you using? In order to activate the paddle shift, I think you have to switch the shifter to sequential mode if you're using the G25 wheel.
 
I think i will try, the European Smart Car! Might have to give the Veyron, a head start to make it fair though!:sly:

Anyways...yeah...trying to race someone after a 6 month hiatus from GT5 isn't the best plan. I'm man enough to admit defeat...lets see if he's man enough to put himself at the same disadvantage.

EDIT: Nope, he chickened out. Typical arrogant gamer strategy...hide behind the game you're best at and never step outta your comfort zone. Lets not mention all the expletives he messaged me too hahaha. Oh well, I'll go back to my real life now where I have a job, social life, and car....the things that keep me from grinding GT5 all the time.

I have to say I think you come off being the bigger man after reading through the dispute. Like.....a race to settle a dispute about cars and performance figures....not whos faster?! Woah there IsmokeGT - I think thats a tad unnessesary - people can have opinions without being good at GT. Plus IsmokeGT, maybe you should have seen....

When GT5 finally knocks our socks off!!!

I am looking forward testing the capabilies of the Veyron , namely it's acceleration over the Standing QM and KM. Although I know how fast the car is from statistics I have aquired through mags etc I just want to test the Veyron vs many standard/moded road cars/race cars just to see what happens, even if I already know the answer. I guess it is the geek in me:dopey:

Other than he obvious, Enzo, Ferrari F1 car, Zonda etc what I am particually interested in is turning an every day car into a Veyron killer or at least as in the vast majority of cases - to see how much it costs in credits to get even close to a Veyron's straightline performance.
Also I will test the Veyron with countless laps at the ring, then do the same, with your average car and some (allot) of cash thrown at it. I am guessing in this test a modded car will stand a better chance as the Veyron's trump card (although very good) is not it's handling.

I can't wait!!!

Yeah I was kinda wondering what a GT race had to do with this conversation, but whatever...I finally got around to trying out the G25 with GT5 for the first time, and it wasn't too bad; though it's really dumb that you have to manually switch between shifting types; PC sims will do that for you, which makes driving different cars less of a hassle. I never realized how different the game feels compared to games like GTL, rFactor, and Live for Speed. I also didn't know that GT5 had worldwide races...last time I remember playing, it was region only.

wasn't there a car made by suzuki that has like 1200 horsepower? Something pikes peak, I vaguely remember it being impossible to drive.

Also, the Veyron is ugly enough (IMO), but the SSC is just an abominable abortion.
