Dragon Age: Origins

I'm surprised there is no thread on this yet.

It finished downloading last night and it was ready to be installed when I got home tonight (pre-loading FTW!). I'm not that far into the game but I can already tell it's going to be fairly epic. The story line isn't that inventive, pretty much Lord of the Rings sans the rings, but the game's party piece is it's characters. Much like Mass Effect there you interact with all sorts of characters which give you a whole range of emotion. I won't get to much into it as it will give a lot of the surprises away in the game.

The other cool part is you get to pick your race and their background which makes the start of the game completely different and it allows for different interactions through the game's main story. Pretty inventive and allows for quite a bit of replay. I started off as a human warrior coming from noble birth.

Anyone else got the game? I'd like to hear how others are enjoying it. The reviews pretty much made it out to be a scaled down version of god.

Sounds interesting, but I'm currently in the market for games of this manner (mainly due to constraints on time and cash) but if I was, it seems well worth a look.

Gamespot video review.

I just started playing this. Gameplay is a lot like Mass Effect which isn't a bad thing. You do have to choose your party members wisely, because you can't change them out during some missions. Overall it's a fun game, and it has dragons in it.

It was a bit slow to get going but now that the story is in full swing I'm totally sucked into it just like I was with Mass Effect. Hopefully I can get through a couple of run throughs before Mass Effect 2 in January.

Oh and the DLC is pretty good too although I've only messed with the armour sets and rings, I haven't got to the quests yet.
