1. I have two Foo Fighters albums and I really like them, I have One by one and the one with the ray gun on the front. What foo album should I get?

2. What category of music does Tool fall under, I hear loads of people blathering on about them, but I am not sure about what type of music they play before I try them out.

3. Anyone heard of a band called A, or Lostprophets both decent uk bands (although Lostprophets aren't that good).
 
Tool falls into the metal/hard rock category, roughly... but they are more than that. They have a lot more complicated songwriting than your average metal band and they are not as flash. Their personalities are hidden, secret, but a deep part of the music... not something that they wear on stage.

I highly recommend getting Aenima, which I think is their best album.
 
So they are understated metal?

That sounds interesting, could you give me a couple of track names that you think are decent. Then I can download them, if I like them I will buy their albums.
 
Sure -

Forty Six & 2 is one of my favorite songs from Aenima. Also try Hooker With A Penis or Stinkfist.

From their album Undertow, I would look for Sober, Prison Sex, and the title track.

Hope this helps. They're one of my favorite bands.
 
I second duko's [can I call you that] analysis of Tool. Definitely get Aenima, then when you see [hear] how freaking awesome they are you'll go out and buy their other albums. Hooker With a Penis is their best song, I think.

If you want another Foo Fighters album, get The Colour and the Shape, it's great.

I prefer Lateralus over Aenima. I have them both by the way. Aenima is more of a metal/hard rock album as Lateralus is more softer and easier to listen to. Schism rocks!

Ok I just downloaded Forty six and 2, I was very impressed. So it looks like I have justified buying Aenima, well almost.

I'm downloading hooker with a penis as we speak.
