I just brought a new PS3, slim model, bigger HD.

How do I easy and safely transfer all my GT5 progress to my new PS3. I am B-spec lvl 40 and a-spec lvl 28, and I do NOT want to start over....

A step by step guide would be appreciatede.

First get the new PS3 running.

Sign in to PS Network with the e-mail and password you used on your old PS3. Your PSN ID will then match the PSN ID of your saved game.

Copy the GT5 save game from your old PS3 to a USB drive (a pen drive will do).

Copy the save game from the USB drive to the new PS3.

Install GT5 fully on the new PS3, it will then pick up your saved game and show your progress.

I hope this helps.

Edit: Is there enough detail here?

Trophies are stored on Sony's servers. They will show up on the new ps3 once you synch the profile in the trophies menu.

I have to do the same thing. My old "fat" ps3 is dying and I just picked up a new slim. Is it better to do it the way described in this thread, or use the "data transfer utility" where you hook the ps3's together with a network cable?

I'd really like to be 100% sure about this before I start, I have 2 accounts, my main account and a GTP_ account and both have a lot of progress and cars.

Should I use the data trasfer method, or just install GT5, log into my accounts and use the saves from my usb stick?

I'd sure like an answer to this before I start. Ideally I'd like to hear from someone who has actually done this allready. The method described in the second post sounds very easy, but some of it just doesn't make sense; he says to copy saved game file from usb drive to new ps3 and then install GT5..... wouldn't you wait until GT5 was installed to copy the game save?

If anyone has actually done this, please reply, or send me a pm. If you haven't done it, please don't reply with what you think will work, or what you have read will work.

Depends if you just want to trasfer your gt5 dater, or if you want to trasfer most of your dater top your new slim. If its just gt5 then just copy your save file on to pen drive, or if your after most of your dater, then contect both machines to gather with the the cable you use to contect your machine to your router and trasfer all dater from old machine to new one. It will take acouple of hours, mine take 3 and half hours to trasfer 225gig from my fat ps3to my slim ps3.

You can copy a ps3 to anouther ps3. If attached a lan cable betwen them both then go on system menu you can copy the whole ps3, settings an all on to the other ps3.

That's what I ended up doing and everything came out perfect 👍
