I mean televised in Australia. I know that nobody in the USA will.

I'm just hoping they will be streamed.

Network 10 should be airing the races as part of the Australian GP weekend coverage, rather than 7, as has been done in previous years.
 
I'm excited for the V8 Supercars to support F1.

3 laps to go: It's Davison, Whincup, Winterbottom -

Traffic !

In . . . credible finish! Classic Ford vs Holden battle.
OMG . . . What an UNbelievable finish! Whincup and the car had nothing left - and he did it. What a great driver. Winterbottom and Davison did well, too.

Race 2 : Whincup takes the lead - then something goes horribly wrong in lap 38. Tander out in front, with Davison and Winterbottom chasing his (Tander's) tail.

Final lap and Davison and Winterbottom bring it home - a Ford one two after four years.

Just so you know, most of us have seen the races already. Don't need to do race updates in here for a tape delayed race. ;)
 
Pukekohe still needs a lot done, ie pit complex, and would be great to have a new spectator area on the inside of the sweeper (or the outside). But an even better place to have it is Hampton Downs where the only problem is that they are limited to 25 000 people in its current state mainly due to parking issues and only having 2 grandstands of any sort, other than that it's a great track
 
So, I saw a couple of team trucks at a service station just outside of Gundagai, NSW this morning. Currently I'm making my way from Newcastle to Adelaide (in Apollo Bay, VIC right now) and it was a nice little surprise! The Team Norton (DJR) truck was there, along with the VIP Petfoods truck and another truck which I didn't get a good look at. It's kinda funny, considering just last weekend I was at the Clipsal 500 watching these teams race and there they were this morning in rural Australia!

Yeah, I followed the Triple 8 transporter up the highway after the Sydney 500 last year.

They were certainly two great races to start the season (especially the finish to the first race). Glad you enjoyed them photonrider. 👍
 
Let me get this straight. Round 1 is in Melbourne as the support race? Am I correct?
 
No, the Melbourne races are supporting the Australian Grand Prix, but they are non-championship events. The first round was in Adelaide two weeks ago.
 
That's what I thought. I got it turned around and though the 500 was non points for some crazy reason :lol:

Uh, gimmicky race formats? The grid for the actual races will be decided by a short qualifying race where cars at the back of the grid are routinely eliminated from the race.
 
So the V8 website says the first race is in 12 hours. That's 6am here. Going to miss it. :(

That's midnight down here, I don't think they are racing at that time of night. :lol:

It's counting down to midnight on March 15th, and the Australian Grand Prix race meeting begins on March 15th - even if the cars don't take to the circuit for another twelve hours after that.

I know, it's silly.
 
They reset the clock, so now it's counting down to the beginning of the race which starts right when I get home from work. :)

Nope, no coverage for today unfortunately. Coverage starts at 12:00 PM AEST tomorrow.
 
Not in Australia, no. The telecast doesn't start until 12pm tomorrow afternoon. Although the arrangement this year gives all the breakfast television programmes access to Albert Park, so there will probably be some coverage from the paddock. You won't be missing out on much, though. Except maybe Yumi Stynes:
