Wich should be the track for the last race?

  • Poll closed .
It has to be the spring rates we have, 650lbs is definitely way too soft for a car this heavy! That has to be some kind of mistake, do this cars use the stock suspension points?

I don't think I noticed any bottoming out with the setup I was using, so maybe the guy who did it figured it out! I'll post it up here tomorrow!

It's pretty much impossible to get all bottoming out gone but if you're talking about whole car and not just braking, i have no idea, (except fuel).
Edit: Jav explained better

I couldn't seem to get below a mid 1:28 with baseline when the rookie series ran there, I'm losing about 2-3 seconds in the corkscrew and about 1/2 a second on the turn leading up the first hill and maybe 2 seconds on the turn after the corkscrew, I just felt like I was gonna spin

Also, I was thinking about hosting a practice around 3 or 4 PM PDT, which I believe is 22:00 or 23:00 GMT (friday), is there any interest? I'm still not 100% sure but I think I'll be home by then

wow, doesnt seem like the friendliest room at this moment in time.

 Sometimes it can seem like that on GTP (especially in the 'Sim Racing Hardware' thread - doesn't pay to be over-sensitve there). If you're referring to this GMT/MST thing well, I was wrong. Just couldn't see it, that's all. Then it 'clicked'. The right thing to do was apologise. The wrong info will cause people to miss the race sessions, which is the last thing I want :)

^all I wanted was to see left on the track because I want to see as many people as possible racing

motortrend
Can I still join this or do I have to wait for the next series?

I think this post was passed over

Also, is anybody up for a practice around 2200 or 2300 GMT?

I would try and make it, Roush. Been joining most practices.

Alrught guys, the setups I've found so far:
View attachment cadillacctsvr.rar

In my opinion the best setup I've tried so far is the one by Sander Hogendoorm, he nmanaged to neutralize the corner exit snap oversteer that made the car so unpredictable. With his setup the car feels just like a Race car should feel, predictable and progressive trough the corner!

edit: it won't accept a purchase of less than 5 dollars, so I can't even host a 2 dollar session, sorry guys

That's odd it should let you. I've hosted a lot of practice sessions for $1 & $2.

I have 0 on account, and less than 5 on my card, and the only way it's letting me pay is by recharging my account, which i can't do

Has there been any decision on how many (if any) dropped races we are going to have?

1 drop race.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, wanted to know how everyone feels about tracks for our final race? My main candidates are:

1) Spa (evryone owns this track)
2) Mosport (fantastic track for this car)
3) Silverstone (classic track the perfect mix of low and high speed corners)
4) Suzuka (full of awesome)
5) Motegi (the new shinny track)
6) Charlotte Road Course (basic membership track)

Please I'd like to see everyone's opinion on this as well as suggestions!

I say Spa, Suzuka and Motegi in that order.

Guys, what does this "dropped track" thing mean?

how about a night race?

that list is fair game to me, the only thing is I'm not the biggest fan of Mosport, but I'm getting better at it (specifically turn 2, if one of us messes up once, our day is done). Oulton park is actually really fun to practice at too, but I'm not sure if all of us have it

By drop date we mean you eliminate your worst race from you points total.

I really like the sound of a night race!

I say we run Motegi night for our season finale :).

and it's probably best if we decide early for those who don't have whichever track we choose, to allow them time to buy it and familiarize themselves

this is my twin ring setup that I worked on, I want to know what you guys think, it's probably going to either be absolutely awful or great.

I realized something tonight, the cross weight in the Cadillac isn't the same left to right. I can't get front cross weight to match or rear cross weight to match which is what I was I was trying for. there is less weight on the RF than LF by 15 lbs and a spring change just reverses it making the LF what the RF was and making the RF what the LF was. The spring change increment is way too big. I also noticed the increment was to big in legends compared to real life also.

I agree! I haven't bought this track yet and having it as our last race would be a great excuse to buy it.

A night race would be epic.

Motegi night race gets my vote too! 👍

I'll have to miss Laguna Seca due to this:
:scared:

That's my big toe recovering from ingrowing toenail surgery (part of the nail was removed). The procedure was painless but it's as sore as hell now.

I was hoping to drive in those flip-flops pictured (can't get a trainer or shoe on) but after trying it out, it's too difficult. They keep getting caught on the pedals and then they twist which presses on the toe. OUCH!

Anyway, good luck all! 👍

Great. Thanks. Unfortunately, I'll have to miss Laguna as Well. I should be at the rest of the races though. Good luck mending your toe, greeze.

To decide the last track we could put a poll up. I'm not sure which track I prefer. A night race would be pretty cool.

OUCH!!!, that even looks sore. Good luck Simon, I don't think there is much you can do about that but rest it.

We use to freeze our feet (aerosol) after taking a slap shot to the foot in hockey it is very painful. Of course that was when I was a "yout" :D I'm to old to try something like that now.

Alright! Free Practice 2 scheduled to start at 20:00 GMT/4:00 PM US EST. Password: monterey

I'll get that pole for the track going guys!

Jav can i sign up for this Championship?

I think Suzuka has a night option too right? along with charlotte and twin ring

here are 2 HDR photos that I did of the Saturday practice session at Okayama, I figured since I don't play GT5 anymore, I might as well use photomatix on iRacing
GTPbros3HDR.jpg

GTPbros2HDR.jpg

I never really saw that the original skin was metallic like it said until I did this HDR, it does that when you darken the photo

I probably won't make the practice session

Jumped in for a little bit. Ran some laps with Ghovand(Niss), and Mark(Mamenzies). Good times.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make tomorrow's race. I will be drunk, at the beach, playing in a volleyball tournament. I know, weird combination.. but we gather a few times a year to play vball that way.

Good luck everyone.. and hopefully I will catch you guys next week.

Edit- I voted for Charlotte road course in the poll. I have run it a few times in the IRNC series. Actually quite fun with the added draft element on the oval section. Makes for some close racing.

also, I don't know what to do about Laguna Seca, 2 weeks ago, I got my first win at this track in the Cadillac cup, and now I struggle to do 1 lap in 1 hr :banghead::ouch: hero to zero just like that

Today's the big day... Oh man I wish I practiced more. :(

Agreed. Sander Hogendoorm was the best from them, thanks. Richards was definitely not for me lol.
