The new DLC, whatever it may be, won't be visible in the store until it updates later, or tomorrow in Europe. Calm down people, you won't see anything for certain until the update in GT5 hits in just under 5 hours and then the DLC unlocks should appear in the store after that.

Until then, sit tight and be patient.

Having been there, I'm going to say no. That doesn't quite look like a desert environment.

Like you, I have been there (several times) and while I believe the Grand Canyon is likely not where this originates, I stand behind my original post in stating that it "could" be the North Rim.

There is no correlation between time of maintenance and amount of content added in a potential patch.

There's been 4 hour maintenance periods where all that happened was the servers got fixed.
