No need to apologize Polsixe, we are all inspired by each other. I'm just glad that there is interest in historic recreations. So...let me be your first contributor to this fine thread.

Here's one for the TIFOSI like me. This is probably one of Enzo Ferrari's proudest race win, the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. So much so, that he always kept the b/w photo above, in his office. This was to counter the previous year's 1, 2, 3 photographed finish by Ford's GT40 Mk. IIs at Le Mans. After that disappointing racing season, in 1967 three new 4th generation 330 prototypes were built along with an upgraded P3/4. Car #23 won with #24 and #26 coming 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Car #23, chassis no. 0846 was a P3/4 Spyder. Car #24, chassis no. 0856 was a P4 Berlinetta and #26, chassis 0844 a NART 412P (customer non-fuel injected P4) Berlinetta.

Metalsun, congratulations on you photo being published in the news section, and I have to tell you, that edit is the best I've ever seen

Not exactly a "repro", but a shot at Sarthe I tried to make look like some of the old B&W photos from my parents albums.

:)

In 2009 Kazunori Yamauchi awarded the Gran Turismo Trophy to Bill Lyon at the Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance for his 1966 Alfa Romeo TZ2, chassis no. 750.106. A beautiful car with a great racing history, enough for me to do an edit. In researching the subject, I found that the livery chosen by Lyon did not represent a race that the 705.106 had won. If I were to restore a racing car, I would use a winning livery. So, what's up? The livery used on racing cars could be different from season to season or even from race to race. This is to reflect the previous year's championship positions, changing sponsorship or even race requirements. After seeing the car in other liveries, my theory is that it was its most colorful when painted for the 1966 Targa Florio. Here, the car finished 2nd in class as no. 130. My edit is for the 1st in class finisher for that race and 4th overall, chassis 750.113, driven by Enrico Pinto and Nino Todaro. They drove 10 laps of the 45 mi (72 km) course in 7h:45m:24s on the italian island of Sicily as car no. 126.

That is just amazing!
