Hey fellas,
As a big Gran Turismo fan and also a big Mazda rotary nut, i thought that i'd combine my two passions for a bit of fun. I had been running a thread over at the GTF where the guys could pick any rotary engined car from either GT2 or GT3 and run them at midfield for a flying lap. Feel free to run stock standard cars, slightly modified cars, or fully modded beasts. Its not a race as such, but rather a chance for us 'rotor heads' to have some fun at Midfield with some of Mazdas finest cars. So, get cracking and jump into one (or more!  ) rotary car from either GT2 or GT3 and hit Midfield in either Time Trial mode (GT2) or Run and Settings mode (GT3).Please share your set ups as this is meant to be a fun learning experience for us all. I'm sure that if you read through this thread you will stumble across some great 'rotary' set ups and i'm sure that your enjoyment and PB's will increase. If there is enough interest over here i will make this the main site for the results and i'd continue to update here first and foremost. I may post threads directing traffic here at other forums, but the main results will stay putt.  Currently the fully modified 787B's from GT3 seem to be the fastest cars on the track with a few guys managing to get into the elusive '55 second club' and beyond, while some super modified RX7LM's (GT3) and some RX7 GT-C (GT2) are tearing up the track as well. But its not only the race bodied cars that are hitting the track, some very nice looking 'road' cars are spinning the rotas as well. LoudMusic - great to see another rotary nut around the place. Nice avatar by the way!
I look forward to seeing your set up and times.Here is a link to the GTF thread. About half way down the first page is a list of the current times for the rotaries at Midfield. There are a few pretty good drivers getting around and somegreat advice on set ups have been posted. Hope you enjoy yourself. BTW- if there is enough interest over here i'll post the timesheet on this thread. If anyone does not want thier name listed on the GTF thread timesheet then please say so when you post here (but i could not see any reason why). IF IT AIN'T A ROTOR.........ITS NOT A MOTOR! cheers fellas.

Great run mate.
. Not too shabby for a first session attempt, i'm sure that you will blow me away very soon! By the way, how much hp did your car have?I'll have to give your set up a bit of a whirl on my next session. I've just spent an hour playing my dusty GT2 trying to get some of the 'stock' rotaries around the pixelated GT2 Midfield. I don't remember GT2 looking so shabby Keep those times and set ups comming boys. I've just updated the ladder at the link above. Here is my 787B set up if anyones interested in trying it out. Its currently able to get around Midfield in 56.392 seconds. SR - 17.9 / 15.5 RH - 60 / 70 DB - 8 / 8 DR - 8 / 8 C - 2.2 / 1.0 T - 0 / 0 ST - 6 / 6 Brakes - 23 / 16 LSD - 5 / 20 / 10 1 - 2.768 2 - 1.722 3 - 1.191 4 - 0.875 5 - 0.683 F - 4.999 Auto - 37 DF - 0.90 / 1.15 ASM - 0 TCS - 4 cheers. |

the bhp for my 787b is 964 bhp , i'm gonna have a go with your settings now , nothing else doing , i will let you know how i do

new time using your settings 56.359
only done 15 - 20 laps , definetly a possible 55 sec lap your settings are better than mine , more grip on the bends , oh well back to it

Not if i get a 55.xxx first.
 We must have had the same idea,as i have just spent about 13laps taking your set up for a spin. I must admit that it does not feel as 'consistent' as my set up and is a bit 'slippery' but it sure let me improve my PB to 56.234 and then ...................... 56.075 So close yet so far away from the 55.xxx. I'm defianately going to spend some more timedoing laps with your set up! yo that time is flying man , i've not improved on my 56.3 yet but have been ahead many times to lose it in the last tunnel , oh well i'll keep trying man with both of these set-ups , again great time man !!

Well, I got a 1'03.436 in the 787B in Arcade mode. Looks like I need a little more practice.

I don't think that the R390 has a rotary engine in it. Basically you can only drive the following cars -
Cosmo Type E (GT2) Cosmo Type S (GT2) Any RX7 (GT2and GT3) RX8 (GT3) 787B (GT3) LoudMusic- the 787 that we are using is one that you get in 'sim' mode. You can turbocharge it so that it produces 900+ hp. The arcade version would be drastically underpowered.
