Im trying to find pictures, videos, or anything about the cars of the famous Mid Night Club.... i think Top Secret's Smokey Nagata was a member....

The cars were recognizable with a Mid Night sticker on their bumpers, a larger sticker on the sun visor area, and sometimes a Mid Night Racing Team sticker on the side skirt.

Read the wiki article for a little better info....

here is a 911 from Tokyo Auto Salon 2002

Wikipedia
The club was disbanded in 1999 when a group of Bōsōzoku were waiting for the club to "play" with them as they were racing down the expressway, culminating in an accident in which six bikers ended up in the hospital and one was killed. As was the club policy, such a happening would cause the club to be disbanded immediately and forever.[2] Since then there have been numerous imitators, but with tighter traffic laws making things difficult, most of such groups have since been disbanded.

.

I imagine much of the club was shrouded in secrecy (Harder for the law to catch up,) and most records of the club were destroyed or nonexistent in the first place.

'm fraid an Anime is the best thing I can come up with.

There were some short clips on Jeremy Clarkson's Motorworld in the 90's and a few feature cars in the UK magazine Max Power also in the late 90's. They featured a blue R32 GT-R and a blue FD RX-7 which were both spankingly awesome. Other than that I think stuff is pretty hard to come by - I've looked before. I would scan the Max Power articles for you but unfortunately they're back in the UK. Sorry.

All I could dig up...

I actually wasn't aware of the fact, that this particular club existed... I mean the 911 and the Fairlady for example are present in most of the Genki racing games, thought the only reason was the anime series... does anybody know if there is a link between this club and teh anime series ? Like, was the Anime series dedicated to this club or was the anime series first and the club preferred similar cars like in that series ?

I've been to Daikoku Futo in 2004, but I was unlucky. As we arrived there the police has just cleared the area, all I saw were a lot of red lights from the police cars :D

That you can't use because your wheels are spinning.

Nah not quite. I mean of course you're right, but you have to see it that way :

Let's say you have a Supra (1) that has spinning wheels in 5th gear and another Supra (2) with less power and no wheelspin in 5th but apart from the lack of power the same specs. Same fat tires etc.

If the driver of (1) is a good driver, he will always beat (2), ESPECIALLY in high speed races like they do on the Wangan highway. Simply because of the fact that you CAN have wheelspin in 5th doesn't mean you automatically have it . Just don't go full throttle all the time. And in 6th gear top speed you need every hp you can get...

Of course investing your money in electronics, boost controller, differentials, slicks etc might be the better option ;)

I think they were also talking about a 5th gear burnout, which is different from grabbing rubber in 5th at speed.

glad i found this thread as i have been trying to find info on these guys for aaagessss...

anyway, thought u might like this link. It provides a little info into the 280zx and, more importantly, its owner Toshi and his involvement in the Mid Night Club.
