It's been rumored, and it's been "confirmed". Today, one of our very good sources of info spied what could be a teaser image.
BADNED
On the eden games website you can actually spot a first but small and not much showing image from Test Drive Unlimited 2. The image is integrated in the header image of the news section where they wish the best for the new year.
It shows a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, which I can tell you is part of the TDU2 vehicle roster.

Oh. Hell. Yes. I played the first one so much. Truly a great driving game. Most of my time was just spent cruising without a purpose in sight, very relaxing.

yeah...I didn't have it but two of my friends did and it's awesome to just cruise.
Hope to hell that they put it on PS3 and not just ps2

I really, really do hope it'll show up on PS this time, and not a half assed version. Will try and buy ASAP when this comes out.

Thats what I enjoyed, doing some races getting money but the most enjoyable part was cruising for me and taking my modified Z06 through the windy roads opening her up to wheel spin was a blast.

I just want it on PS3, because of the G25 support - first TDU was such a brilliant game, shame fthat X360 wheel is such a crap.

Hopefully the Fanatec Carrera wheel should be in good supply before this is released.

Hopefully there'll be an option to turn off the ridiculously irritating police!

Please let it be on PS3 as well as Xbox! This game should, if the original was anything to go by, be awesome.

I've been waiting for this! Hopefully they'll make a PS3 version that's the same as the X360. In the last version, they bragged that the PS2 had better graphics to make up for the lack of motorcycles and some cars. I don't care about realistic graphics (as long as it's as good as TDU), I just want to drive.

It didn't, I can assure you. The sounds were better on the PS2 though, bizarrely. I can't wait for TDU2 though, me and my mate loved just blasting around the map in the original. I just hope they get the sounds right this time round.

BTW has anyone tried playing the original online lately? I can no longer find any players cruising around!

They never made any comment about the PS2 edition having better graphics. Pretty much from the moment it was confirmed it was obvious that it would seem like that.

Xbox 360

PS2 Version

As you can see, the 360 one definately had better graphics.

Like I have said before, I will buy 2 copies of TDU2 when it comes out as long as it is as good as TDU. TDU is still the best racing/cruising game I have ever played and I still play it every chance I get. All my TDU images. http://www.forzacentral.com/forum/sh...97&postcount=1

I thought they said somewhere that the PS2 had a better graphic quality engine or something, whatever that is. I guess that was supposed to make up for the fact that the PS2 had less cars and no motorcycles.

You heard wrong. No way the PS2 had better graphics in TDU.

This amazing info was posted by Badned from the Forzacentral site.

Test Drive Unlimited 2, sequel to the award winning Test Drive Unlimited, will see probably its official unveiling sometime later this year and I'm going to share with you guys already now a look at some early media. From concept art to some early ingame material with some game related info thrown in between, so you can get an idea of what to expect from the sequel.

But keep in mind that all the media is at least one to two years old, in case of ingame material showing an very early build, and it is possible that in the end not everything will be in the final game.

Will update the thread in the next two or three days with some more stuff.8)

Lets start with some early concept art. The biggest new thing in TDU2 will be off-road racing, featuring various new classes of vehicles including SUV's, Buggy's, Motocross and ATV's.

Concept Art: SUV's driving through wetlands

Concept Art: Ducati vs. Hummer

It is planned to have at least one new location besides Hawaii.

Concept Art: A buggy race

The following concept art was originally done for TDU but now updated showing the other new element in TDU2, rain!
Yes, this time it won't be only sunshine, the weather will change dynamically to cloudy/foggy, rain up to heavy tropical thunder storms, all which will influence both your maneuverability as well as your visibility.

That's it for now. Come back tomorrow for more.

Yes! I was a huge fan of the original and glad to see there's now (supposedly) dynamic weather. Defiantly keeping an eye on this one

Here's Part 2 of BADNED's sneak peak at TDU2.
Quote:

[UPDATE#1]Part 2
Sorry that I'm a bit late but now let's continue with part #2.

Lets start with an artwork that shows the new theme of TDU2. It is possible that this art will be used for promotional stuff and even in some form find its way on the cover.

TDU2 Artwork: A New Direction

TDU2 Concept Art: A Tough Battle

It is planned to actually have a story this time around told through cutscenes and dialoges. The player will meet both friends and foes throughout the career while starting with nothing somewhere in nowhere. Your ingame avatar will have more tuning options then before, more clothes, more accessories, tattoos and body pircing. There will be hairstylists and barber shops where you can get a cut or a completely new hairstyle. You have problems with the police or some enemies and you don't want that they recognize you anymore, no problem, go to the clinic and undertake a plastic surgery on your face or anyother cosmetical treatment.
Here is an early ingame look on the updated avatar.

TDU2: InGame Avatar

The following is an early ingame shader test image but you might notice something new in there, exactly, a fuel gauge. This time you will have to keep an eye on it while cruising and fill it up at the nearest gas station or you will strand on the street.

TDU2: InGame Shader Test

That's it for today. Come back tomorrow for even more.8)
