Gran Turismo 5 to Be Previewed in OPM UK Next Month

The new issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK magazine is hitting subscribers now and it has some decent features, a 11 page feature on Modern Warfare 2 as well as 8 page features of Assassins Creed 2 and FIFA 10. But the most interesting of all: Gran Turismo 5 next month.

No, we’re not kidding. Gran Turismo 5 is gonna be previewed next month in the next issue of OPM. As to what this preview is all about, we dont have a clue. Just that the game will be previewed next month according to the next month feature of the magazine.

The way magazines work they will probably be writing about the latest news from E3.

Porbably however Gameinformer had the first tibits of info about Modern Warfare 2. No idea about OPM UK since I do not have a subscription but surely they have new information about the game.

Who knows but if it is new information it means marketing for the game has started and the release is pretty soon ala not spring 2010. :P

okay, we have to keep this in perspective.
Reading that qouted part in kingdizzi's post, it seems like they are making a big deal out of this preview... but that quote is not from the OPM magazine itself is it?
Basically "goonline" are blowing this up for now, and it could very well be a little preview of what they have seen on E3.. nascar, damage and WRC plus upgraded graphics.

It could be a proper preview, but i'd have to read the OPM bit about the announcement of the preview first before i get excited.

Well I hope its good stuff and not the scraps from E3.

I hope there is some insight into day/night cycles or weather. I will indeed be disappointed if it is just a rehash of the E3 stuff.

I see it being more than that, I doubt they are going to put the little information they could have gotten from E3 about GT5 in the mag. I say there will be a full interview with Kaz in there instead of the two or three same questions and answers people got about GT5 at E3.

The news from E³ would just be enough for a little article in 2-3 sentences. I don't think they would seriously announce this as a preview.

That's why i would like to see the announcement from OPM themselves.. goonline could be blowing this up out of proportions.

I'm with torontomi and Rentner on this one. We've already had some interesting tidbits bubble up on Home integration, how performance parts will/might be handled, and remarks on damage. I'd think this would be the first serious Kazunori interview, with possibly, possibly, a brief exposure to the game. I'd also think there would be some screen grabs. After all, if OPM touts this as a preview, they're going to get collectively lynched if they don't deliver one. Maybe even from SONY as well as us!

Really good news.

But I think for a game to be preview the guys have to Play almost the full game, to see and experience almost all the features. I hope they do not base the preview from interviews and E3 film.

If the announcement is real of course..

I hope they answer these 4 questions.

Which cars will have damage and how will the repairs work?
Will the endurance races change from day to night and will it be an option in other game modes?
How much of the game will be Nascar/WRC?
Will there be weather changes or different weather types for the courses?

Those four questions may not get answered. Kazunori may be holding certain cards like those until GT5 is close to release, or a certain "definitive" game is out. But like everyone else, we'll be hoping for as much detail as we can get.
