GT Racer is a TV series that features historic vintage GT races with 1950's and 1960's vintage race cars at tracks such as Nurburgring, Le Mans, Monterey, Lime Rock, Spa and a few others. You can see a list of the actual races and events at the Wiki link I provided. The show includes inside-the-cab (dash cam) high-definition videos as well as regular race HD videos and interviews of the drivers before, during and after the race.
The TV show is being aired on DirecTV for the past two weeks (9-04 and 9-11) on Fridays on the HD Theater (76) channel here in the US. Just one word for it... Awesome! If you missed the first two episodes, no fear. The link I just gave you has the schedule for the show, including repeats of the first two episodes, so don't miss it again!
This show is created by John Galt Films from out of NY. Their website shows nothing at this time, but will soon. I'm sure they'll have a lot of clips for us to preview. No doubt, Blu-Ray discs and downloads of the episodes will come soon on PSN or with GT Vision, if that's still up and running.
So far, the two episodes I've seen were Le Mans (aired 9-04) and Nurburgring (aired 9-11). I don't know how many episodes there are, but I plan to watch them all.
I understand this show is/was aired in the UK, also. On channel Dave but I didn't see it listed there. If anybody from the UK or Europe can provide more information, please do so. Please include when and where people can view the episodes.
I don't know how long exactly this show has been airing in the US, but I'm watching it now. I love it! I'm starting this thread to let others know that this show is out there. You don't want to miss this show if you like vintage GT races, or car racing in general. It's very well done!
